Question:
What is the difference in the 1424-1 and 1420-1 base plate. It seems they both are for a 2002 Jeep Wrangler and look the same. How do I know which one to order?

For your 2002 Jeep Wrangler the difference in the base plates is different application for what type of bumper you will have on your vehicle.
The Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, # 1420-1, will fit a 1999 to 2002 Jeep Wrangler single tube bumper or a U-channel bumper.
The Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, # RM-521424-4, will fit a 1997 to 2006 Jeep Wrangler double tube bumper and fits the Unlimited and the Rubicon. It will not work on Jeeps with front leaf springs.
The visible portions of the bracket can be removed when not towing. I have the Roadmaster Black Receiver Inserts, # RM-200-5. These inserts will go into the brackets on the vehicle when the visible portions of the bracket are removed. It protects the base plate receivers from dirt and grime.
These brackets are designed to work with Roadmaster Tow Bars and Roadmaster Adapters.
I am sending the installation instructions for both base plate kits in a separate email.
