Question:

Do you know what brake shoes and bearings fit a 1997 Brenderup Royal TC horse trailer. I believe they used AL-KO, but I cannot determine the part numbers. Thank you.

Let's start with bearings. The only two solutions I have for you would be to remove the hubs and get the numbers that are stamped on the bearing or for you to remove the hubs and use a digital or dial caliper to measure where the bearings and seal ride (see pic).

With that info I can help you figure out what you need.

Instead of just doing brake shoes I would recommend replacing the entire assemblies. Typically brake shoes cost just as much as the assemblies so it's better to get all new parts.

You will want to measure the inner diameter of your hub/drums and the depth of the drums to determine what brake assembly dimensions you need. For example the part # 40716 is a 10 inch by 2-1/4 inch thick brake assembly.

You also want to determine what the bolt pattern is of your assembly mounting flange. The standard size is 4 on 4 inch. You also want to determine the axle capacity of your trailer and go with an assembly that has the same rating, the # 40716 has a 3,500 lb capacity.

If you find an assembly that matches the dimensions and capacity you need it would not matter what brand you use.
