Brake Pressure Reducer Solution for Brakemaster Setup Where Tow Vehicle is Locking Up Brakes

Question:
I have a 2007 Fleetwood Revolution/Spartan Chassis motorhome. I tow a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche with the Roadmaster Brakemaster system. The Avalanche has conventional vacuum-actuated power brakes. On a recent trip, I had to get on the brakes of the motorhome pretty hard, and I flat-spotted one or more of the tires on my Avalanche. This was in the middle of a long trip......I had pumped down the vacuum reservoir at the start of the trip, and had braked many times prior to the hard stop. I am confident it was not reserve vacuum that caused my flat-spotting. I see you have the 900002 Brake Pressure Reducer device. Is this the best device for helping me avoid flat-spotting my new tires? How do I set the air pressure? Trial and error? Isnt there a pretty high risk that I will flat-spot my tires while trying to dial in the optimum pressure? Is there another option for my situation? Thanks!

I spoke with my tech contact at Roadmaster and when I described your situation he said that the reducer part # RM-900002 would be the correct solution for you. He said that since you did pump the brakes to remove all of the vacuum in the vehicle brakes that the best solution would be the reducer so that you can fine tune the braking power of your setup.
