How to Find the Brake Wire on a 2001 Toyota Tacoma for Brake Controller Install

Question:
What is the wire color for cold side of brake light switch on a 2001 toyota tacoma. It is very difficult to get up under the dash to use the wire tester included with the kit. Any ideas of what the wire color is i should be using?

When we installed a brake controller in a very similar Toyota Tacoma as your (see attached install video), we found that the correct wire to use for the stoplight switch was dark green wire with a white stripe. You should still test this wire for voltage with the circuit tester to verify it is the correct one. But this would be an excellent starting point.

My brake light seems to have one green and one green with red stripe on driver side brake on 2001 tacoma Most of the info calls for green with white stripe. Should I just assume any stripe is hot and solid green tail light?
