Hey Jason! I'm guessing you have the 12" long shank right now which is the standard. For a longer shank that fits a 2-1/2" receiver you can use the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank - 2-1/2" Hitch - 16" Long - 7" Rise, 3" Drop # FA78FR.
This measures 16" overall, 12" from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the adjustment holes. You can use that information to see if it will provide you with the clearance you need.
Are you trying to lower your tailgate or do you need the extra clearance for something else?
