When you’re pulling serious weight like a camper, utility trailer, or boat, you need a hitch that can handle it. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver – Class V XD – is built for heavy-duty towing with a 2" x 2" receiver opening. It’s rated for up to 16,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 2,400 lbs tongue weight under standard use, and up to 17,000 lbs GTW when used with a weight distribution system. The fully welded, square-tube design gives it the backbone needed for demanding jobs while keeping everything stable and secure on the road.
Installing a hitch shouldn’t require a shop full of tools. This Curt receiver bolts directly to the frame using pre-existing holes and includes all mounting hardware and installation instructions right in the box. There’s no welding or fabrication needed, so it’s perfect for DIY setups done from the driveway or garage. Duceolsen from KY even mentioned drilling a few holes on his shuttle bus build—it was worth it for the solid fit and performance when hauling his 24 ft camper and bike rack.
Built from sturdy, powder coated steel, this hitch resists rust and corrosion even after years of exposure to road grime and weather. The precision robotic welds improve both strength and fitment, so once it’s on, you can trust it to stay tight and true through repeated use. Whether you’re hooking up trailers or carrying gear on a rack, this design is made to last through tough conditions without compromising reliability or appearance.

I watched the helpful video on line , it made the installation easy knowing what to expect. Took about 30 minutes to mount the hitch , it fit like a glove . Very enjoyable installation knowing the little tips instead of learning on my own. The hitch is solid and well constructed, my vehicle can’t tow what the hitch is rated for , but the tongue weight rating is what I was interested in. I have a hitch hauler which can hold up to 600lbs, this hitch just adds confidence to what I will use it for.A++++
Easiest installation ever. Fit perfect on the 2020 GMC Savana Cargo Van.
Etrailer has been amazing regarding customer service. The Curt part on the other hand is less than par. The design is excellent. Very well built hitch. Very stout. Construction os off however. You only need to drill two holes. To open up a 1/2” hole to 9/16” hole. Easy and quick. Problem....front most 3rd hole on both sides don’t line up with the existing van frame holes. Holes were off 1/4”. Having to drill out 1/2” holes in that location is more of a challenge as the you are drilling stacked steel that don’t line up. Please advise Curt to adjust hole placement. After all, Curt part #13040 is a perfect fit.

Fantastic, this thing is a beast!
Great business to deal with. Never disappointed!!! Hitch will be a greatly needed addition to this recently acquired van
Sal was great, got the order out same day FAST. Arrived right on time. The items were exactly what I needed to get my Van together for towing complete with hitch and wiring harness.
All the installations was like you show on the video , so thanks again!!!
Solid and very well made
This receiver is stout. Great piece for the money. Fit my 2017 Savanna well. In addition to drilling the two outward holes larger to fit the 9/16 bolts, I did have to open up one of the other frame holes a touch but that is more a GM frame manufacturings variance than anything. Can’t beat this receiver for the money.
went on quite easy. The last bolt toward cab was off about half a bolt, enlarged it went very easy.Happy with results.
Got the shipment on time solid construction but maybe a little confusing on the instruction on how to mount. On my 2009 Chevy van 3500 extended cub I had to widen the hole on the chassis just e bit to make room for the large bold using a 5/8 drill bit for the chassis had the some holes as where the other bolts go in place. None the the less I transported what I needed and no problem not so ever.
Installed on a 2017 Chevy Express 2500 Cargo Van. Significantly heavier than the OEM hitch receiver which we replaced due to the tongue weight of our travel trailer. We had 2 small issues with the installation. Needed to increase the hole in the van's frame for the 9/16 bolt. Also had to use the Dremel to grind off a bit of metal on one side of the single bolt hole at the end of each arm on the hitch, it didn't quite line up with the hole in the frame. Other than that, the installation went smoothly.
Very easy installation. Looks extremely strong. Shipping was fast and free. I should note that I did have to drill the holes for the 9/16" bolts a little bigger. The bolts wouldn't fit through the holes in the frameof the vehicle. This was on a 2017 Express 2500.
Product fit almost perfectly. I had to drill a little to allow the bolts to fit. 2025 GMC Savana 2500. Other than that it was perfect
This was installed on a 2003 Chevy Express 3500. The coating on the hitch is very durable and did not scratch when I hit it will some tools during installation. I had to drill the rear two holes out larger to fit the larger bolts but it was not difficult and overall the installation was very easy. Well made product and I expect it will perform as advertised.
fit OK. Besides the back bolt having to enlarge the frame hole which was mentioned that maybe needed I also had to drill out the 2 front holes as they did not line up
This hitch had the highest towing capacity rating of all 2-inch receiver hitches I compared. It mounts with two 9/16-inch bolts, which are used in the rear most holes, and four 1/2-inch bolts. However, all of the frame holes, as well as the hitch holes would accommodate 9/16-inch bolts. The four holes toward the rear of the hitch lined up perfectly, the forward two holes didn't exactly match the frame and required slotting to the rear. Overall, I would recommend this hitch.
Well built, great product at a great pr ice.
This hitch is very heavy duty and very easy to install. I bought it for my Express 3500 just to pull a pop-up camper with the potential to one day get a larger camper. However, it also came in handy when I needed to pull a Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel in my 24' cargo trailer 700+ miles. I never once had any problems with it. If you want to get a hitch that far exceeds towing capacity for this vehicle, one you never have to worry about, truly this is the one. With all the necessary tools ready (drill, bit, wrench, socket, torque wrench), I had it on in about 30 minutes; easy install.
Great product. I just finished installing my class 5 trailer hitch on my 2003 chevy Express 2500 Passenger Van. No drilling required. Took me only 20 min to install. My advice to anyone looking to looking great customer service and the right product at the right time. Get hooked up by etrailer.com. Thanks Robert S....

GREAT!!!! No problems
It’s technically bolt on. But it’s not a direct bolt on hitch. It does need to be drilled to fit.
Worked perfect on my 2012 Chevy Express (Thomas Short Bus) dualy 6.6L Duramax Turbo Diesel 4500 series. Had to use a grinder to cut the rear bumper for access but it’s the right height and I’m welding the cutout to a hitch insert so it will be flush and look like the bumper, but can slide out for a step into get into the back door.
Fast shipping and exactly what I wanted

Love hearing that, nothing better than when it shows up quick and is exactly what you were hoping for. That’s a serious hitch too, plenty of strength there for whatever you’re hauling. What are you usually using your Chevy Express for?
etrailer service was excellent: great price, free shipping, and 2 day delivery! The Curt trailer hitch receiver model 15320 is very well designed and built except for one detail: the distance between the front and rear bolt holes was too long by about 1/4 inch thus preventing installation of the bolts on my 2026 Chevy Express Van 2500. I had to enlarge (elongate) the bolt holes which was a very difficult job because the material is very thick and hard. Otherwise, I am pleased with my purchase.
Installed on a 09 3500 express shuttle bus.
Used to pull 24ft camper and mount bike rack.
Did have to drill frame holes but it was worth it.

Still no issues, completely happy with the hitch. Had a 4000mile road trip this summer with a cargo carrier, exhaust damaged some of the cargo so will be rerouting the exhaust soon.
