Published 06/03/2015 >
Question:
If i set my controller on 35 and apply the brakes while driving, should the display read 35???? because mine will read 0-5….its stopping fine and if hit the + button it will increase it to 40 my concern is if the display during operation should be what i have the brake percent set as.

When you set up the Hopkins Brake Controller part # HM47294 you will set up the power level desired like you did. Now the display won't necessarily show the max braking power unless the controller senses that it needs to send back the full amount of voltage.
So if you set 35 as your max it would take you slamming on the brakes for the controller to show 35 and fully apply the brakes. If your brakes are working fine as-is then you should be good to go.
