Question:
I have a 1986 ford F-150 short box pick-up which hitch would be the correct one for my make and model.?

Expert Reply:
The most popular trailer hitch for your 1986 Ford F-150 is # C15300 if it is a regular pick-up truck model, not a cab and chassis, and if it has the standard or step bumper. Cab and chassis models will have a more narrow frame width and are used to make service trucks and emergency vehicles.
The regular pick-up models will have a frame width of 37-1/4 inches measured from the outside of one frame rail to the outside of the other frame rail.
If you have a regular pick-up model and it has a deep drop bumper, also called a cowboy bumper, the most popular hitch option is # BWHDRH25198.
And if you have a cab and chassis model with the 34 inch wide frame spacing then the most popular option is # 13028.
