Replacement # 753-3532 Adapter Plate to Fit Old Thule Spare Me Bike Rack on 2011 Toyota RAV4

We purchased a Thule 943 Spare me for out 1997 Rav4 and have been using it since then. We recently purchased a 2011 Rav4 and would like to use the same Thule 943 spare me mount. We are having trouble with the old mounting plate. If we purchase the mounting plate from the 963PRO sku 7533532 would that work with our new 2011 Rav4 and our old Thule 943 Spare Me? Thank you for your assistance.

The old Thule Spare Me 943 isn't compatible with your new RAV 4, as you've already found out. Luckily enough, the replacement # 753-3532 mounting plate for the latest version of the Spare Me # TH963PRO would be compatible with your 2011 RAV 4 and with your older Spare Me bike rack. The plate is all you'll need to get the rack to fit on your new car.

I've confirmed this with Thule for you.

The Replacement Mounting Plate for Thule Spare Me - Spare Tire Mounted Bike Carrier - Qty 1 # 753-3532 will work with your 32 inch tire but you will also need to use the Replacement Long Standoff Extension Adapter for Thule Spare Me 2 # 852-3305-001 to allow for the width of that large a tire. You will also need the Replacement Long Mounting Bracket for Thule Spare Me Bike Carrier # 752-1425-002. All of these parts are included with the Thule Spare Me 2 Bike Rack - Spare Tire Mount - Folding Dual Arms # TH963PRO if you don't already have it.
