Expert Reply:
The Curt Class IV Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 14001, is a confirmed fit for the 1986 Ford F-150 4-Wheel Drive with a standard or step bumper. This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto the F150's frame with no welding required.
I am including a link to all of the hitches that we have available for a 1986 Ford F-150. Just select your bumper style and you will see a list of the hitches that are available for your truck. Each of those listed will also give you the recommended ball mount for that specific hitch.
If your F-150 needs trailer wiring, the custom wiring harness, # HM40115, plugs directly into existing wiring with no cutting, splicing or tapping required. For a ball mount you can use # EBMK2416.
