Do all 99 Ford Explorers [Eddy Bauer models] come with a 4-way trailer connector?

In my research, I wasn't able to find out definitively if all the Eddie Bauer Explorers included a trailer connector. Some 1999 models were equipped with a towing package which included the 4-pole trailer connector. What I read seemed to indicate that if the vehicle was equipped with the factory trailer hitch, it'll have the factory wiring.

Determining how your particular vehicle is equipped would be very simple. Look behind the rear bumper on the passenger side of the vehicle for a round plug with a protective cap on it. You can remove the cap and use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 on the pins of the connector as a helper activates the right turn, left turn and running lights. If the plug you found is active, you'll just need part # 118241 to provide a 4-pole.

If the plug isn't present or isn't functional, you can install a 4-pole using part # 118345.
