Unfortunately, I replaced the motor with the same and it’s not strong enough. I guess I need the $500 motor.

by:

Fast shipping and solved my problem.

by:

Great experience web site easy to navigate shipping fast product what expected. would highly recommend to anyone.

by:

I think this motor and wiring switch works excellent! Very easy hook up and lifts and lowers landing gear really well.

by:

I soon got tired of cranking the front legs of my 5th wheel camper by hand. Could not find anything at several camper dealers so I went online and found etrailer. There I found a 12 volt electric motor that would just bolt onto my existing lift mechanism. It fit perfectly without altering anything on my lift. I mounted the switch on the outside and hooked up the two wires to the battery that was right there and it was done. Works great. Wish I had found about this years ago and wondering why camper manufacturers don't install these at the factory since the cost so little. Thanks etrailer.

The directions for the switch were easy to understand. The switch worked fine and was a great improvement. Delivery was fast as always and the salespeople are extremely helpful! I will purchase again from etrailer as they are top notch people to deal with.

The product has worked great for me. Used it to turn hand jacks on my 5th wheel to electric and have experienced no problems with product to date.

by:

Can't really rate the product as it wouldn't fit my Arctic Fox 27-5L trailer when the description said it fits most 5th wheel trailers. Motor is about half the weight of my factory motor so don't think it would hold up if it did fit. Wiring with switch looked good though. I wanted to keep the switch assembly but have to return it with the motor. I evidently have an RBW motor of some flavor according to the mfg who doesn't use it anymore. I may wind up replacing the whole landing gear assembly and motor. I'll be looking for a heavier duty unit than this SC unit though.

by:

Product worked very well and did what I had expected for a small motor. Installation was very simple to figure out according to directions. Very impressed with motor- days of hand cranking are over. Very pleased with product and would do business again with etrailer. Customer service was excellent. Rep was well informed of products and even suggested one similar to the one we called about that saved us money! She was very patient answering all our questions. Very happy with your customer service!

by:

I installed this wiring and motor kit on my 2013 Puma 5th wheel with a Lippert landing leg system. The motor bolted on the gear box perfectly and the wiring harness was easy to install. Took me about hour. This sure beats using an electric drill. Now everything looks Factory..

by:

Motor and switch kit arrived today! Installed the motor and switch kit, wired the switch in (aside from needing connectors for the wire ends) all exceeded my expectations. This was a nice upgrade for my 2006 Vanguard Frontier 5th wheel. Whoot whoot, I now have power landing legs! :-)

by:

It is a pleasure to receive my order in one full day after order. Part is identical design to the old. Motor appears to be slightly shorter than old? Not installed yet due to composite gear box has crack and just ordered it from you. Let you know after receipt and install.

by:

excellent service to get the parts . we are very happy with the motor an switch kit. now with us being 75 y we can raise an lower the 5th wheel with ease.thank you..

by:

  • Replacement Landing Gear for 1998 Carriage Carri-Lite RK 732
Hi James; the better option would be the Bulldog # BD500162 you were looking at. You can add the Motor and Switch Kit for Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear # LG-217884 to the Bulldog which will give it the same functionality as the # LG-4 while saving you some money. If you want a crank handle to go with it you can use the # BD500203. The distance between the mounting brackets (underside of top bracket to top of lower bracket as shown in the diagram) is 17-1/2 inches. If this matches what...

The pink will connect to the positive battery terminal. The short black will attach to the negative battery terminal. The long black will connect to one side of the motor and the red to the other side of the motor. These wires will change the direction the motor turns, so you will want to make sure they are connected...

You have a few options for you 2008 Grand Junction 5th-Wheel Trailer depending on what you want to do. You can replace your motor if we can find a good fit or you could replace your motors and legs. If you also need a gearbox then I need the model number of your landing gear to make a specific recommendation. • Availability of Replacement Lead Jack and Parts for Stromberg Carlson 5th Wheel Landing Gear # LG-1
The jack with the motor is referred to as the lead jack, while the other jack is called the follower. Since the jack on the motor side is in need of replacement, you would need the lead jack. The lead jack is not terribly difficult to replace. You would need to disconnect the drive rod that connects the two legs, remove the lead jack, install the replacement lead jack, and pull the motor and gearbox off the defective jack and install on the replacement. If you were using the Stromberg...

  • Replacement Trailer Landing Gear Motor for Ragen Toy Hauler
Since the gears work easily when not under load and you are able to manually assist the motor when under load, the gears are not the issue. It sounds like the clicking is a relay that is tripping and resetting so it sounds like either the wiring or the motor is the issue. To bypass the current wiring, you can run a jump wire from the battery to the motor and then from the motor to the frame. This will show you if the motor is bad or if you have a different issue with the wiring or switch....

I've attached a diagram to assist. The input wires from the battery can be combined for the power wire and also separately combined on the ground wire. I've attached a couple diagrams to assist.

  • Replacement Landing Gear Motor For A Lippert 141893 Motor
Hey Trey, There are a couple other comparable motors to the 141893, but they all have a lower RPM rating so they wouldn't really be an upgrade. If your motor is worn out I would just replace it with the same one # LC141893 to ensure compatibility. Lippert offers a fused switch # LC145236 specifically for their landing gear motors.
