I have a horse trailer with living quarters, its a 5th wheel. I has a hank crank right now want to convert to Electric. its 28th long, dont know tongue weight. We are guessing about 4,000 lbs maybe less. What do you think what size electric motor I need. What do you have available.

Expert Reply:
To add an electric motor to your 5th wheel horse trailer, I recommend the Motor and Switch Kit for Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear # LG-217884. This should work well for your system based on the weights you gave. Another option is the Lippert Components Standard 5th-Wheel Landing Gear Motor w/ IP Rated Switch and Harness # LC217884. The difference between these is simply the manufacturer as both have the IP rated components.
Either system will give you the motor and switch that is compatible with most landing gear systems.
