Can this be used to upgrade existing single motor system thus giving ablility to work the landing gear indepentently from side to side?

To upgrade a single motor Stromberg Carlson landing gear set to dual motors, you would need a replacement lead leg, # LG-179013 (the two legs would not be attached to each other in a dual motor set up), a gear box, # LG-179015, and the motor, # LG-217884.
With all that you start getting close to the price of a complete kit with dual motors such as # UF17-943010.
