Features to know about

Plug and Play Simplicity: No Cutting or Splicing Required

Tired of complicated wiring setups? The Curt T-Connector lets you easily install a 4-way trailer connector right onto your vehicle without any cutting, splicing, or tapping into wires. Simply plug it into your existing OEM vehicle socket located behind the rear bumper, and you're good to go! This hassle-free setup makes towing accessible to everyone, even if you're not a wiring wizard.

Perfect Match for Your Trailer Needs: 4-Way Flat Output

Whether you're towing with a 5-pole, 6-pole, or 7-pole adapter (sold separately), this harness has got you covered. It provides a reliable 4-way flat output to connect your trailer's tail lights, brake lights, and turn signals. Plus, the dust cover ensures your connector stays clean and functional when not in use.

Custom Fit for Hassle-Free Installation: Designed for Your Vehicle

Say farewell to one-size-fits-all solutions that don't quite fit. This T-Connector is custom-designed for your specific vehicle model, ensuring a perfect fit every time. It's optimized for models like the 2020 Chevy Equinox and 2022 GMC Terrain, making it a seamless addition to your vehicle's existing wiring system.

Stay Corrosion-Free: Electrical Grease Recommendation

Weather and corrosion can be the enemy of electrical connections, but with a bit of grease, you can prolong the life of this harness. Apply a small amount on the vehicle plugs and connector to prevent rust and ensure long-lasting performance, rain or shine.

Durability On the Road: Backed by a 1-Year Warranty

Built to last, this T-Connector comes with a limited 1-year warranty, giving you peace of mind for those long road trips. This assurance adds an extra layer of trust, ensuring your investment in quality towing equipment is secure.

Efficient Installations: Video Tutorials Available

Visual learners rejoice! For many vehicles, like the Chevy Equinox or GMC Terrain, installation video tutorials are readily available, making the wiring process a painless, step-by-step experience. This extra guidance ensures a smooth setup, even if it's your first time handling vehicle wiring.

2020 chevrolet Equinox

The Curt connector is SOOO much better than the other wiring harness I purchased that required wiring to both taillights and to the battery. Who knew that the Equinox had a trailer connector under the back bumper and the Curt connector just plugged into that.

by:

Well it was easy to plug in, but everyone said if you have the plug behind the bumper it will work.... Yes and NO. Guess my vehicle is the one that was not wired for running lights through that plug. 4 way, brake turn all work but no running lights.. There are no relays in the fuse box for those, and since I lease I'm NOT cutting and splicing into the vehicle.. 23 Chevy Equinox. Looking into Battery powered lights as an emergency if I get stuck in the dark sometime.. Maybe wire 2 taillights with a lawn tractor battery????

Its installed but not working 100, Looks like GM never wired the vehicle for trailer lights. I thought plugging this harness in the socket that was there would fix this. All other lights work on the trailer except the running lights..I dont use it a night and not very often, but other than cutting wires dont know how to fix this. Leased vehicle only a year to go...so Im not cutting wires.

@Donald Hey there Donald, I am sorry to hear that your running lights are not working. I have heard with certain vehicles that the headlights need to be on for the running lights to work, this is mainly on older vehicles but worth trying. If that doesn't fix the issue then check the fuses for the trailer running lights in your 2023 Chevy Equinox, as many vehicles have separate circuits for towing (Look for trailer-related fuses, typically labeled TRLR PARK, TRAILER RUNNING LIGHTS, or TOW LIGHTING). Use a multimeter to test the brown wire at the 4 pin connector, it should have 12V with the lights on. Ensure the CURT 56429 T-Connector is properly installed, and check for damaged or loose wires. Verify good ground connections on both the vehicle and trailer. If the trailer works with another vehicle, the issue is on the Equinox side. Some models may require software activation for the tow package check with a GM dealer if needed. I am very sorry that no one reached out on your initial review. Please let me know how things work out.

The first Wiring harness did not work. I sent it back and they replaced it with a new harness.

Simple plug and play for my 2023 Chevy Equinox

by:

Plug and play just like it was describe d!

by:

Knowing if the vehicle has the towing package was tricky, I ended up tapping one of my car's cables to install

by:

Install was simple. Plug and play. Used a small flour jacks to balance and install under the car. Was able to install it myself in about 45 minutes.

by:

It did not work as promised. Either it wasn't wired right, or the body control module doesn't integrate well.

by:
Chevrolet Equinox

Easy installation for Equinox models with the factory trailer wiring. Clipped right in and secured wires with provided zip ties.

by:

An easy way to add wiring to your trailer hitch. Biggest obstacle was removing the cover on the connector on the car.

by:
2022 Chevrolet Equinox

Matched up perfectly with the existing plug. The video you supply was very helpful in showing how to disengage and remove the dummy plug in the existing wiring harness. (These plugs can be very tricky to release the connector lock, if you don't know how to do it.) Thanks Guy

Difference in purchasing this product from an Auto parts store and your company.
Your product better built, obviously will last longer. Also service is great.

by:

Fairly easy to install

by:

Quality merchandise. Also great communication. The mechanic that installed the hitch said he couldn't get the same quality items at such a good price.

by:

Easy install

by:
GMC Terrain

The ordering process was easy, and the shipping was very fast. It was easy to hookup on my 2024 GMC Terrain. Just lucky the wiring harness was wrapped with it looked like cellophane and secured to the trailer hitch. With the 2 big holes in the hitch box, who know where the wiring harness would have ended up.

by:

Very easy to install and use works grea t.

2023 Chevrolet Equinox

Item is perfect, shipping was quick and the price was great too! Thanks!

by:

Came as advertised . Install a breeze..

  • Recommended Hitch and Wiring for Towing With 2024 Chevrolet Equinox
We do have a hitch for your 2024 Chevy Equinox. I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C77FR. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It features a bolt-on installation and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. In addition to a hitch you will also need wiring. The Curt # C94FR will plug into the connection points behind your rear bumper. This will provide you with a 4-way to power your trailer's signal lights. In order to complete your setup you will also need a ball mount...

  • Correct Trailer Wiring for a 2025 Chevy Equinox
Hey Monica, thanks for reaching out! **SEE UPDATE IN COMMENT SECTION FOR 4-PIN PLUG** According to my research, the Curt T-Connector # C94FR will fit your 2025 Chevy Equinox as long as the factory plug has a 6-Pin configuration. As far as installation goes, you can either follow along with the linked 2024 Equinox installation video, or check out the linked installer locator tool to find wiring shops in your area. • How To Tell If a 2020 GMC Terrain Has the Factory Tow Package for Trailer Wiring
In order to determine if a 2020 GMC Terrain has the factory tow package you will need to take a look in the rear fuse box on the driver side of the vehicle. In the fuse box there will be two locations you need to check, K2 and K3 which are for the trailer lights. These slots should be empty but what we are looking for is silver terminals inside each of the holes for the prongs on the relay. If there are silver terminals then you have the factory tow package but if not then you do not have...

  • Which Trailer Wiring Harness for 2020 Chevy Equinox
The wiring harness you need will depend on whether or not you have the Premiers sub-model or not. For the Premier, you'd use # 118759 or # 118750 if it's not the Premier model. There's also a third less expensive possibility....if your Equinox has the factory tow package with the connector behind the bumper on the driver's side (see provided photo), you could use # C94FR. The # 118494 you'd looked at is for an earlier model Equinox, and wouldn't work on your 2020 model.

  • Are Extra Relays or Fuses Needed to Use Curt Trailer Wiring Harness on 2020 GMC Terrain
I can understand how the wording could be confusing on whether or not the Curt # C94FR (56429) will work on your 2020 GMC Terrain, but I can confirm that it will indeed work for you without needing to install any extra fuses or relays on the vehicle. The "with tow pacakge" selection on our site, refers to having the factory harness behind center of the rear bumper, like you mentioned having. According to my contact at Curt, this is present on all 2020 GMC Terrains, which is why they do...
