Trailer Wiring for 2023 Chevy Equinox with Connector at Rear of Vehicle

Question:

I have a 2023 Equinox with the plug factory installed in back of the rear bumper. Does that mean I have trailer towing or do non trailer towing cars also have that plug? Included pic from in back of my bumper showing plug factory installed. You have Tekonsha harness that has a wire that goes back to the battery, Curt harness $70 less does not have that positive voltage wire. My trailer is incandescent, and has 4 pin flat connector on it. I have bought quite a few hitches and wiring harnesses from Etrailer, we just added one to my wife’s Bronco. But this Equinox is a bit puzzling! Thank you for any light you can shed on this!

Hey Brian, it looks like your 2023 Chevy Equinox does have the needed wiring harness to allow you to install the Curt trailer wiring harness part # C94FR that you were hoping for.

I am not sure I have the alleged trailer pkg but checking the rear fuse bank under the hatch on the driver’s side, there are 10 amp and 15 amp fuses from the factory. Trailer lights PRK and Trailer rt turn signal, trailer LT turn signal etc. Thank you for responding

@BrianP Since the vehicle is pretty new if you still have the original window sticker with all of the options it should be listed there or you can take the VIN to a Chevy dealer and they'll let you know. If you have the wiring like in your picture and the fuses are in place that really does sound like you have the tow package.
