It worked great for me! It’s a great safety feature. Allows you to apply your brakes without fussing with your phone. This might sound unnecessary, but how good is your phone mount? Do you want to be holding it and fooling with it while driving? What about if you phone locked up after being inactive? I’ll kinds of things make this a great product.
Beyond frustrated with this product. The button adhesive lasted 10 minutes on my dash before falling off. I properly cleaned my dash before applying the button adhesive. Zero trust in this product design. Reliability is important when it comes to brake controller safety. You would think the design team would make a flawless dash mounting solution. I called etrailer for customer support, left a voicemail, and have not heard back from them yet.
Works well with the controller. Just wish it could work without having the app on the face of the phone
Curt engineer said they do not make a brake controller to replace defective the factory integrated brake.
I love it when I run across something that I desperately need that I didn't know existed. I have health issues so it's great to know that if I have an episode while pulling my trailer, my wife can push this little button and stop us with the trailer brakes. It truly can save lives.
Keeps disconnecting so essentially it is worthless. I put it back in the box on my work bench. Good idea, but only if it works.
I'm giving this an excellent without actually using it, just based on how good the Curt controller works. I have high confidence. Minor issue was trying to pair it. The directions said to open the mode on the top left of screen. Nothing there, so just used my phone for the trip. After arrival, My grandson and I both tried to find the pairing option on the top left, but we eventually found the pair option on the bottom of the screen after several searches. Once found, it did pair, but haven't driven the unit since. I did hit the button several times while stationary and could hear some type action at the trailer brakes.I have confidence it is road ready.
The adhesive on the back caused it to fall off of its mounting point within 2 days. Otherwise it works fine.

A great addition. Helps to straighten up the trailer nice and easy,no jerking. Again worth the cost.

I still like it, no problems so far.
Easy to install and use with the Echo controller. I am very satisfied with it.
Works as it should no wiring involved
This brake controller saved us a lot of headaches. Last year while in Houston TX for the winter our Chevy Colorado was totaled. Trying to find another one to replace it was a nightmare. Our old one had the heavy duty tow package with built in brake controller. We searched a 300 mile radius around Houston to find one with 4 wheel drive ( we live in northern MI ) and what we got was this one, basic truck. it did have a light tow package but no controller. I found this one, so I didn't have to do any wiring. Down loaded the app. to set it up and it works GREAT. The only thing I did was added a zip tie with the rubber strap. We are pulling a 4800lb. Travel trailer.

Works as advertised. We wanted to have a readily-accessible button that we could push to apply the trailer brakes if the need arises. This button is a much better solution than using a cell phone for this purpose, as the phone sometimes goes to sleep and hides the brake button until it's unlocked again (although the Curt Brake Controller app continues to run and function in the background even when the screen goes to sleep). When you need the trailer brakes, you usually need them NOW!
Great addition to echo brake controller. Nice option to quickly engage emergency brake button without having to use phone app.

Thanks for sharing that, and I’m really sorry you’ve had to spend that much time trying to get it working. If the manual override button isn’t syncing, that usually points back to the Echo controller itself since the button pairs directly through it and the app. If the Echo isn’t connecting properly or staying linked in the app, the override won’t function either. Since you’ve already gone through troubleshooting with customer service without success, it sounds like there may be an issue with the controller or pairing process itself. We’d definitely want to help get that resolved for you. If you’re up for it, we can walk through your setup one more time or help move toward a replacement if needed. What is happening when you try to connect?
This product has been excellent. The connectivity is immediate, even without opening the app. My bluetooth button has always worked simply. The colored lights are simple and communicative. I love the ease and lack of setup.
On the flap, the corner of the thumb tab has broken off. Seems within regular wear and tear for towing.

It arrived in a timely manner. And it was easy to connect to the app on my phone. But, I can't yet speak to how well it works, as I have not pulled the trailer yet. I certainly do like the concept of not having to search for my phone if there is a sudden need for emergency braking.

I engage the manual override button every time I pull my Airstream. However, fortunately, I have so far had no need to use it in an emergency braking situation. I appreciate the confidence that a manual button provides that I can quickly use it in an emergency.
A must if you use the curt brake controller. Frees up your phone screen from needing to be on constantly and mounted.

Could not be happier! When I consider what I’m hauling valuable antique cars this is nothing to help make the journey simpler and safer. It’s a small price to pay peace of mind. Also, Service has been nothing short of fantastic.
