How Long Is The Wire Harness For The Curt Echo In-Line Brake Controller

Hello. I want to install this on a 2024 Wrangler Rubicon X. There is room inside the driver side rear tall light cavity but I need at least 24inch of length to reach red line in photo. Other option would be up higher behind bumper red circle in picture but its very close to the muffler. Can you tell me the length of the harness from each connection point? I know with the C51180 I would not need to worry about harness or controller but I want a permanently mounted set up so not to worry about theft or it coming loose from the weight of the trailer harness. Any ideas and input would be appreciated, Thank you

Hey Darlene,
The Curt Echo In-Line Bluetooth Brake Controller # C79DR wire harness is 23.5" from the connector to where it tees off to the 7-way connectors, which both have a 6" harness length. You can run some self-tapping screws through the mounting bracket of the Echo, but you'll really want to be careful that you don't overtighten the screws because the bracket is plastic and will crack. Typically we'll just run zip-ties through the mounting holes and then around the trailer hitch or some other sort of framing to mount the Echo. Once you have it mounted you can also use zip-ties to help hold the harness up out of the way.
If you'd like to have a physical button to press instead of just using the app when you need to manually activate the brakes you can also pick up the Manual Override Button for Curt Echo Brake Controller # C83HR.
