Question:
Just purchased a 2025 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie and cant find a Brake Controller pigtail under the dash anywhere as was on earlier models. I see many others complaining about the same. Did Ram discontinue the pigtail on the 2025 models?? Has Curt actually tested the Echo on the 2025 Rams??

Hi Doug; this has been a frustrating experience for many people. As far as we know they have moved wiring around and some models don't come with it. If you aren't seeing a factory port under the dash you probably don't have one.
You would need the factory plug along with a controller module behind the rear seat, and some lack the controller module even with the plug. On top of that, it looks like if you have these you also need the dealer to put in a code to allow the controller to work.
What I can tell you is that the Curt Echo # C51180 will work with your 2025 Ram 1500 Laramie as long as you have a 7-way. I can't say if Curt tested it on a 2025 Ram but it literally works with any vehicle that has a 7-way connector. This completely bypasses everything in the truck and runs off the app so it is a great solution here. You can add the # C83HR you looked at in the cab if you would like a physical button for the manual override.

Robin H, I have an update to my original question. My 2023 Ram 1500 had an under-dash 4 lead pigtail with a Male plugin connector attached. This is compatible with the Tekonsha 3024-P Female plugin adapter attached to my Prodigy P2 controller On my 2025 Ram 1500 I finally managed to find a 4 lead Female connector under the drivers side left lower kick panel just forward of the door. I confirmed the presence of 12 V power, Common, Truck Brake input signal and Trailer brake output lead. The problem of course is the Controller and now the Truck have the same Female connector. With some searching, I found the Tekonsha 3045-P adapter cable which is compatible with a number of Dodge and Jeep vehicles. This cable has a Male connector that looks to be compatible with the Female connector on my 2025 Ram. I've ordered this cable and should be able to confirm this works in a few days. My guess is that Stellantis is attempting to standardize on Female connectors across their vehicle lines?
