Out with the old and in with the new companion fifth wheel hitch. I bought them both from etrailer. The 16K fifth wheel hitch was purchased for my Silverado without a Puck
system then I traded it in two years later for a Ram Laramie 3500 dually with a puck system. Stayed with B&W hitches because they are built to last and easy to use. etrailer my,"go to site". Yes it was a huge upgrade going from 16k patriot to a 25k companion hitch and worth every penny. Thanks again to E-Trailer and B&W.

I am very impressed with this hitch. I have changed vehicles, and am transitioning from the older bed-mounted rail system to this "puck" system for my new-to-me 2022 RAM 3500. This hitch is heavy, but built like an army tank. It ships in 3 boxes. I was concerned when I saw that the largest box arrived significantly damaged, but thankfully the contents was intact. Some assembly required, including using a torque wrench (which all RVers should own anyway). Very satisfied overall.

Friend has shortbed with demco slider hitch. I installed this in long bed. Pulling 15,000lb fifth wheel with standard kingpin(not upgraded) is a completely different world between the two. 6 hour drive only jerked once going over a bridge transition on I-49, besides that very solid and smooth.

Arrived a day earlier than expected. Good thing! Box was opened and taped together. Luckily the only thing missing was 1 safety pin. Due to the weight and box conditions ups driver was going to roll it off the back of the truck until I showed up to help.
Overall, simple assembly and installation. Perfect fit for '24 Ram 3500.

Just installed my 5th wheel. (mechanically inclined)
30 minutes and done. Whoever thought of the puck system in the newer trucks is a genius! BW made this bad boy heavy duty. Was all I could do to lift frame in place. Put in place loosened all bolts and it fit in place like a glove. Torqued bolts and cannot wait to get my new toyhauler hitched up!!

This is a great looking hitch! Have not pulled the 5th wheel yet! Picking up the new one tomorrow. Web site says would be delivered last Saturday, but T-force deliver company said they don't deliver Saturday or Sunday. Just recieved the hitch this morning on a semi truck! Driver very nice and helpful! Good thing i don't pick it up until tomorrow!!!

WOW.....I consider myself pretty handy but between the instructions and youtube...this installation was simple. Very solid....so very impressed.....I have a rubber mat in my bed and it took longer to cut holes put than installing the 5th wheel....I just can't say enough good things about this hitch. Happy with the hitch and documentation on installation. It was an easy install and the videos e-trailer makes were a great precursor to my install. However, the delivery was late. Good thing I factored in a buffer just in case. In a day where people make so many online purchases, being able to count on the delivery time is crucial.

Went together really well. Suggest following the instructions as written. I used a YouTube video and tried to attach the arms after the base was in the truck (26 RAM 3500 with 8’ bed) as shown in the video - HUGE mistake. No room to move to put the arms on. We did get it done, but it took much smaller hands than mine to accomplish the task.
The hitch works great, but I took off a star for two reasons. First - cannot reach the locking pin from the side of the truck. Someone has to be in the bed to lock the release arm. Second - the spring that pivots the hitch plate is rinky-dink and doesn’t work if installed as per the instructions. Had to move it several times to get it right. Would prefer a system where the spring attached to the arm in a different fashion. Nothing should have to be hammered on.
Both of these complaints are minor - but together they cost the product a star.

So far it has been great! Being 65yrs old I was apprehensive about trying to assemble and load the hitch with just my wife to help. I remedied that by loading everything into the bed of my truck, including my tools and assembled it in place. Not being up to speed on RAMs puck system I did not know what to expect. I assembled the hitch, torqued it to spec and it dropped into place with out further adjustments or fanfare. I pull a 34' 5th wheel and don't even know it is back there. Hitching and unhitching is a breeze with very little learning curve. That says a lot since my learning curve more resembles a U-turn. Thank you B&W for a great hitch, thank you etrailers for a great deal.

This is the ideal hitch for my Ram 2500 MegaCab. The MegaCab does not allow for a long bed and my RamBox setup causes issues with traditional fifth wheel setups so I needed to go with the Reese Sidewinder but was looking for the ideal hitch set up for my factory prep kit. This heavy duty hitch is the perfect combination and installs easily. Most importantly when used in conjunction with the Sidewinder I can make incredibly tight turns with plenty of room to spare.

I love the quality of this hitch. Its worth the extra money and I love that fact that is made in USA. Very well made and hopefully will be the last hitch I ever buy. Install was easy and took about an hour. I have a 2018 Ram 3500 with the tow prep package and the hitch dropped right in as advertised. As always, the folks at E Trailer are a pleasure to deal with. Pros: Simple to operate (once installed). I like the way the locking arm engages when you back into the kingpin. Very little (or no) chucking. Due to heavy construction, provides a bit more confidence especially towing 20K.
Cons: HEAVY (and for the Ram puck version) extra large base taking up even more truck bed. Top portion is relative easy for one person to install/remove. The bottom portion is a whole new ballgame. Definitely two man operation to install bottom. Locking levers never "engaged" in exactly the way described in the literature but after calling tech support, I'm OK with it.
Would give 5 stars if it wasn't so dang big and heavy :(

The packaging was damaged and moldy. The base package was even opened. Another small package was crushed in. I had back surgery 2 weeks ago. I haven't had the strength to inventory the packages yet.
