Which Wedge for Sidewinder to Use with B and W Companion

Updated 06/10/2026 | Published 06/08/2026

Question:

I am considering purchasing a BandW BWRVK3600 for a 2015 Ram 3500. I have a Reese 5th airborne side winder pin box and would like to know which pin box wedge I need to fit the BandW hitch

Hey Leroy, with the B and W Companion hitch part # BWRVK3600 that you referenced the correct wedge you would need to use it with a Sidewinder would be the MORryde part # MR34ZR. This will lock the head of the hitch to the pin box so that it pivots like it was designed to.

The Companion is a really nice hitch and I think you'll really like it!

Some other posts treference a Reese wedge SSW-06. I have an older Fifth Airborne pin box, so I want to make sure there is no significant difference. I attempted to upload a photo of my pin box but the site would allow the upload.

@LeroyB its same as what I mentioned basically. That part number that you mentioned was discontinued but the one I mentioned is same design.

I have since changed trucks and hitch. I didn’t care for the slide hitch as it banged hard to hitch up, it did work well for saving the cab from being crushed. I now have a curt hitch in a dually that I like much better. Just my opinion.

@Mike good to know thanks for sharing that! Is the Curt a fixed or slider hitch?

@JamesonC yes my curt hitch is a fixed hit, I gained 2 feet of bed space with my dually because it’s a 8 foot bed. I haven’t used a curt slide but I would compare them now if I was in the market. Good luck.

First of all. I love the hitch I have a 2020 Ram with the puck system. And a 42ft Montana. Hook up is so eazy. But most all all unhooking is so eazy. After using a Q25 hitch trying to find the sweet spot,to release the rv. It so eazy, unhook the first and didn't chalk the wheel. Scared the hell out of me It release so smooth the rv move backwards. Lesson learn. Always chalk the wheel first. Delivery was great, drop it off right on my driveway. With the flex in the head. It's ride a lot smoother. One last thing, you will love it too@
