Expert Answers about Blaylock Industries

  • EZ-Jack Recommendation for Tandem Axle Trailer to Allow for Flat Tire Changing
  • Since you have a tandem axle trailer the easiest solution for jacking up the trailer to allow the flat to be changed is the Blaylock EZ Jack part # EZ-Jack. You would just need to roll the good tire on the side of the trailer up on this wedge and the flat tire would come up off the ground high enough to be changed.

  • Coupler Lock for a UFP A-60 Boat Trailer Actuating Coupler
  • From what I was able to find in the research I did, the recommended lock for a UFP A-60 coupler is a simple pin design, # 28012. This should prevent the handle from operating while the lock is in place (basically used in place of the pin. The difference is that this pin includes a lock). In my research I found that locks like # BLTL-33 are not considered a fit.

  • Can Blaylock EZ Jack be Used on Trailer with Leaf Springs
  • The Blaylock EZ Jack and Wheel Chock for Tandem-Axle Trailers # EZ-JACK can fit trailers with leaf springs. If you check out the picture I attached you can see it used on a leaf spring trailer just like yours.

  • Recommended Trailer Coupler Lock for a 2-5/16
  • I want to start off by saying that any trailer lock that you purchase will never be able to fully secure your trailer from a thief. If they are determined enough to bring equipment with them to remove a lock then given enough time they will be able to remove a lock. This will be the case no matter what you what you are looking to put a lock on. With that being said, the Blaylock EZ Lock Trailer Coupler Lock # BLTL-33 that you referenced is a great lock that has received many great reviews...

  • Can the EZ-Jack be Used on a Triple Axle Trailer
  • I spoke with my contact at EZ-Jack and he says that to use the EZ-Jack on a triple axle trailer you will need to turn the curve up, opposite the wheel, and drive up on the jack and you will be able to change the tires. Other wise a floor jack and jack stands are the safest way to service trailer axles.

  • Best Gooseneck Hitch Lock for Bulldog Gooseneck Coupler
  • Yes, the EZ Lock Gooseneck Coupler Lock Combo part # BLTL-53-40D2 will work with a Bulldog gooseneck coupler. I have attached a photo of the above lock installed on a Bulldog gooseneck coupler for you as well. The EZ Lock Gooseneck Coupler Lock Combo is made of a rust proof aluminum. It comes with two locks, one for the gooseneck coupler and one for the inner tube. Each lock comes with 2 keys each for a total of 4 keys. The locks are also made here in the U.S.A.

  • What is the Maximum Lift of the Blaylock EZ Jack and Wheel Chock for Tandem-Axle Trailers
  • With the # EZ-JACK curved upward the height is 6 inches like you have said. But with the curve down you can get a little more height. I went out to the warehouse to measure it and came up with an overall height of 7-3/8 inches at the highest point with the # EZ-JACK curve facing down. This aluminum jack would be an excellent replacement for wooden ramps. It will last much longer and it is corrosion resistant. I would not say they nest particularly well. We store them kind of like spoons...

  • Padlock Size and Recommendation for Use with EZ Lock Trailer Coupler Lock # BLTL-20
  • For a lock for the EZ Lock Trailer Coupler Lock # BLTL-20 we actually recommend disc-style padlock # DT40124 or # ML40D both or which have a 3/8 inch diameter shackle. I have linked a video review of the EZ Lock coupler lock and in it our video team shows this style lock being used.

  • Will Blaylock EZ Lock Trailer Coupler Lock fit UFP Square Bodied Coupler
  • If the front part of your square-bodied coupler is approximately 3 inches tall, based on the inner dimensions of the lock the Blaylock EZ Lock Trailer Coupler Lock # BLTL-33 will work well for you. The # BLTL-33 has inner dimensions of 3-1/8 inches x 4-3/4 inches, when the bar is installed in the tallest position. Another factor to consider is the location of your coupler latch. The key is securing the lock in the underside of the coupler while also covering the latch on top of the coupler...

  • Will a Blaylock EZ Lock for Set Screws on Gooseneck Couplers Fit a Square Bulldog Trailer Coupler
  • The Blaylock EZ Lock, # BLTL-51, should work fine with a square Bulldog gooseneck coupler like # BD0289800300, # BD0289600300, or # BD028900. Provided the coupler that you have uses set screws to hold the inner tube in place, this lock will prevent anyone from tampering with the set screws to release the inner tube. You could use # BLTL-53-40D2. This comes with the set screw lock, the coupler lock for the bottom of the coupler, and 2 padlocks.

  • Coupler Lock Recommendation for a Bulldog BX1 Gooseneck Trailer Coupler
  • The Bulldog BX1 gooseneck couplers have that handle assembly at the bottom so the lock that would fit at the bottom of the coupler in lock set # BLTL-53-40D2 would not fit. The BX1 series of gooseneck couplers can be locked with a padlock which you could get locally. When the BX1 couplers are in the coupled position, you can place a padlock through the hole as indicated in the picture. The coupler could then not be opened with or without a trailer connected.

  • Replacement Entrance Locks & Hardware for 1951 Spartan Imperial Mansion Travel Trailer
  • I was able to find many photos of the 1951 Spartan aluminum Mansion and the Imperial Mansion travel trailers, but none of these provided detail about the original locks used. It may be a long shot to find OEM style locks for this (awesome) 64-year-old trailer, but such good things do happen on occasion. Among the photos I did find were examples of door locks of the push-button variety, like the Blaylock # BLDL-80, but your best bet is to submit photos of your existing door locks, with...

  • Inner Dimensions of the Blaylock EZ Lock Coupler Lock # BLTL-33
  • I pulled the Blaylock EZ Lock Coupler Lock, # BLTL-33, from our warehouse and took some measurements for you. The inside width of this coupler lock is 4-3/4 inches. From the base to the bottom of the pin, it measures 3-1/8 inches (see photo). If you do not have a padlock yet, I recommend looking at the Blaylock EZ Lock Coupler Lock with Padlock, # BLTL-33-40D. This is the same coupler lock, but it includes a stainless steel padlock. You could also just purchase the lock separately as...

  • I went and pulled a coupler like you have part # BD44150W0317 and the coupler lock you are interested in part # BLTL-20 and found that they lock is wide enough to fit this coupler. I attached a picture that shows the two products next to each other to show that they would fit.

  • Available Types of Trailer Coupler Locks
  • We do offer coupler locks that allow you to secure an unhitched trailer. These can be seen on the linked page. These locks include types like the EZ Lock Trailer Coupler Lock # BLTL-20 which works along with a pad lock that you supply, such as # ML40D. We do not offer any lock products intended to secure a hitch ball to a ball mount. Usually hitch balls will be torqued (according to the manufacturer's instructions) to a degree that would make it hard to unscrew the nut that holds the...

  • Can Using Drive-Up Wheel Chock Cause Tire, Wheel or Spindle Damage
  • It is very unlikely that using a drive-on ramp or leveler such as the Blaylock EZ Jack and Wheel Chock # EZ-JACK would cause tire damage. If the tire was far wider than the leveler, or not lined up correctly, and was allowed to remain on the leveler for a very long time (weeks or months) it might cause flat spots, but that would tend to even out as you drive. Given the substantial 17.5K weight of the trailer, lifting much of its weight by only one spindle could cause the spindle to bend....

  • Blaylock EZ Lock Coupler Lock Recommendation for a 2009 Airstream International
  • The Blaylock EZ Lock Trailer Coupler Lock # BLTL-34 is what I would recommend. For a couple reasons, it is larger and has less areas that could be pried on by a thief to get it off than most locks. I attached a review video for you to check out as well. As long as the rolled lip on the coupler isn't wider than 4-1/2 inches either coupler lock would work well for you.

  • Can a Gooseneck Trailer Be Stolen by Dragging it Away with Just the Safety Chains
  • They must have been talking about bumper pull trailers because there is no safe or sane way to pull a gooseneck trailer using the safety chains. The trailer would topple over or slide into the thief's vehicle. The best way to prevent someone from trying to drag any type of trailer away by the chains is to make the chains removable if they aren't already and when the trailer is parked store them in a locked storage container on the trailer such as # DZ91717P. But that is not going...

  • Recommended Adjustable Coupler Lock for Tight Fit
  • The Blaylock EZ Lock Trailer Coupler Lock for 1-7/8", 2", and 2-5/16" Couplers - Aluminum # BLTL-33 isn't necessarily designed for a tight fit. It is designed to give you a couple different pin location options but the latch is really all that keeps it in place tightly as the pin just prevents removal. If you want a tighter lock, I recommend the Fastway Universal Trailer Coupler Lock for 1-7/8", 2" and 2-5/16" Couplers # DT25013KA which allows for many adjustment points for a precise...

  • Are Replacement Keys Available for the Blaylock EZ Lock Trailer Coupler Lock
  • While it is possible to get additional keys for the Blaylock coupler lock in a round about sort of way, a better option would be to use a similar lock, # TCL3-YL or # TCL3-AS. You would wait to receive the lock and then there will be a 3 digit number on the keys. • Will EZ Jack Work With Mor/Ryde Suspension On Tandem Trailer
  • The Blaylock EZ Jack and Wheel Chock, part # EZ-JACK, should have no problem working with your tandem trailer suspension. Unless your suspension works differently than the standard equalizer suspension, you should be able to use the # EZ-JACK for a wheel chock or level as it is intended to be used. This unit weighs just 11 lbs and has a weight capacity of 20,000 lbs. I have attached a product review video you can check out.

  • How Does Gooseneck Trailer Lock, # BLTL-50-40D, Attach to a Gooseneck Coupler
  • Basically, the Gooseneck Trailer Lock, # BLTL-50-40D, sandwiches around the bottom of the gooseneck coupler on the trailer. The two hooks that look like duck heads go over the lip on one side and then you hold it up flat against the bottom of the coupler, and then you insert the pin that will be over the lip on the other side of the coupler.

  • Can One EZ Jack and Wheel Chock be Used on a Tandem Axle Trailer
  • If you need to replace just one tire or do other work on one axle of a tandem axle trailer on just one side of the trailer then yes, you would need just one of the EZ Jacks, # EZ-JACK. But if you want both sides of the axle to be off the ground you would use 2. Take a look at the picture I have included. You can see using one at the front axle, the rear tire on the same side is off the ground. But if you look to the other side, the front tire is still on the ground meaning the back...

  • Would the Blaylock Wheel Chock part # EZ-JACK Work with Trailer Fenders
  • The Blaylock Wheel Chock part # EZ-JACK that you referernced should work just fine on a trailer with fenders like yours. I attached a picture that shows it being used on a trailer with fenders for you to check out plus a review video. The overall height of the product is 6 inches. As long as your fenders are taller than 6 inches off the ground there would be no way it would interfere with this.

  • Securing Steel Coupler To Aluminum Car Hauler Trailer Tongue To Prevent Theft
  • Thanks for the photo of your trailer coupler. That really helps explain what you are asking about. I spoke with a couple of other Experts and we may have a couple options you can consider. One way to go is to use Loctite Threadlocker 262, part # LT37420 on the coupler bolt threads. This is put on the threads when bolting the coupler to the trailer tongue and becomes impossible to remove with hand tools without heating it up to 500F degrees to free the parts for disassembling. That would...
