Expert Answers about Trailer Valet

  • What Size Drill Will Replacement Drill Attachment for Trailer Valet Work With
  • I went to the warehouse and checked out the Replacement Drill Attachment for Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly, part # TVDA for you. The adapter will work best with 1/2 inch 18V drills. This adapter will work with # TVXL2 and # TVXL25 and also the # STC-V211 trailer movers.

  • Will Trailer Valet Work On Grass And Gravel To Move 20 Ft Boat And Trailer
  • The Trailer Valet, part # STC-V211 may work with your lawn if the ground is not soft, and your tongue weight is not excessive. The gravel may be another issue. If the gravel is loose and does not provide a solid footing it would be difficult to move the # STC-V211 with the boat attached. I have attached a product review video of the Trailer valet you can check out. The cranking that powers the drive system would depend on how level the ground is and if there is solid footing for the...

  • Can the Trailer Valet XL Be Used on Gravel Inclines
  • If the incline is slight and the gravel isn't super deep the Trailer Valet XL part # TVXL25 would work. But if you have a steep driveway and/or deep gravel the wheels of the Valet are going to spin. In the video I attached a link to we show the unit being used in gravel. We also show it being used to move up a relatively steep incline. This does also have an internal brake that is demoed in the video I mentioned. When you stop cranking the handle the brake activates.

  • Will the Trailer Valet # STC-V211 Fit a 2011 Jayco Pop-up Camper
  • The installation bracket for the Trailer Valet # STC-V211 that you referenced takes up to 8 inches of space to mount on the trailer frame. If you have enough room to mount the unit, you should be fine being able to swivel it into position to travel because you should not have anything else extending over the side-rails of your trailer. In the picture I have attached are the measurements from the actual # STC-V211 we have on site. From the bottom of the wheel to the top of the unit while...

  • Is the Trailer Valet Swivel Jack and Trailer Mover the New or Old Version
  • I went out to the warehouse with the writer who wrote the description for the Trailer Valet, # STC-V211, to determine if our stock is the old or new version. I am happy to report that we have the new version. The manufacturer states the following changes: The new Trailer Valets will still be powder coated, but all the parts that are exposed will be now be Zinc-Nickel Plated, a process known for its excellent resistance to corrosion. The quality of the Acme Screws on the device are greatly...

  • Can the Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly be Used to Push or Pull a Trailer
  • Yes, the Trailer Valet XL dolly # TVXL2 is actually designed to pull the trailer as well as to push it so it will work just like you want it to! This version has a 2 inch ball. There is also a version with a 2-5/16 inch ball # TVXL25. I have linked a video showing how these dollies work.

  • Can the Trailer Valet Move a 4,000 Pound Trailer Up a Small Incline
  • You should not have a problem moving your 4,000 pound trailer up a small incline using the Trailer Valet, # STC-V211. It has a 5,000 pound capacity and 500 pound tongue weight capacity. The Valet has 2 gears and depending on the degree the incline is you might find that the low or high gear is better suited for that particular incline. I have included a link to a video review for you.

  • The Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly with Chain Drive - 2-5/16" Hitch Ball - 1,000 lbs TW # TVXL25 or the 2 inch ball # TVXL2 have two different drive gears to make it easier to go up an incline or to overcome a lip in the concrete as you described. • Dimensions Of Replacement Mounting Bracket For Trailer Valet
  • There is no weight rating for the Mounting Bracket, part # TV-0002. It is designed to replace the bracket for the Trailer Valet Trailer Jack, part # STC-V211. The Trailer valet has a weight capacity of 500 lbs. You may be able to install a different trailer jack in the bracket but since they do not test the bracket with any other manufacturer items, I cannot give you a weight capacity for the bracket or a guarantee it will work. I pulled one of the # TV-0002 from our warehouse and...

  • What Voltage Drill Should be Used with Trailer Valet 5x
  • 18 volt drills would be the best as they are quick and strong. But realistically a 12 volt powered drill would work too with the 5x part # STC-V211. The drill attachment needed is the part # TVDA.

  • Best Place on a Boat Trailer Frame to Install the Trailer Valet Swivel Jack and Trailer Mover
  • The further forward on a trailer the less weight there is. If at all possible, move the Trailer Valet, # STC-V211, as far forward as you can on either side. The OCD in me wants to say put it on the opposite side as the regular jack. A boat trailer usually has lower tongue weight than a regular trailer because the motor on the back of the boat is weighing it down on that end. That should keep you within the tongue weight capacity of the Trailer Valet, which is 500 pounds. You could...

  • Comparing the Old V211 Trailer Valet with the New TV5X Trailer Valet
  • The part number we use for the Trailer Valet is # STC-V211 but it is the TV5X model. This is the newest version that includes some material upgrades for better corrosion resistance. So our part # STC-V211 is in fact the TV5X; the newest version of the Trailer Valet.

  • Best Way to Move a Trailer Around on a Paved Driveway
  • You have a couple options. You could go with a standard trailer dolly like the part # MT70225, or for an even easier product to use you could go with the Trailer Valet part # STC-V211. This jack comes with a crank and handle that allows you to move a trailer on pavement very easily. Check out the review video I attached for more info.

  • Does the Trailer Valet XL Permanently Attach to a Trailer Frame
  • You are correct, the Trailer Valet XL part # TVXL2 does not attach to the trailer frame at all. Basically you just line up the hitch ball under the coupler and then pull back until the ball sits perpendicular to the ground. Check out the picture I attached that shows the system being pulled up underneath a coupler.

  • Can the Ball Size of the Trailer Valet XL Be Changed Easily from 2-5/16 inch to 2 inch
  • To convert your Trailer Valet XL part # TVXL25 to a 2 inch ball you would need the part # TVBB2 which will allow you to easily replace the base with a new ball that is 2 inches. You would be able to easily go back to the larger ball size as well. The Trailer Valet XL can handle small inclines pretty easily but a lot of the traction is going to depend on the tongue weight of the trailer and the type of ground you are traveling over.

  • Recommended Trailer Valet XL To Park A 10,000 lb Trailer
  • As long as your trailer isn't loaded to max capacity when you park it, I recommend the Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly with Chain Drive. This easy to use trailer dolly comes with a hand crank and a drill attachment. This dolly has a 1000 lb tongue weight capacity and a gross trailer weight capacity of 10,000 lbs. The hitch ball height is adjustable from 19-1/4 inches to 20-1/4 inches. This system allows you to drive and steer with minimal effort and you have the choice of high and low...

  • I spoke to my contact at Trailer Valet to get specifics on the tires supplied with Trailer Valet Swivel Jack and Trailer Mover, part # STC-V211. The dual tires measure approximately 9 inches by 2-1/2 inches (this will vary slightly depending on tire pressure). The tires are tubed and are usually shipped with about 50 psi pressure. The typical working pressure range for these is 50 to 60 psi. I have included a brief video that demonstrates some of the safety and convenience features...

  • How Much Space is Required on the Trailer Frame to Mount the Trailer Valet Trailer Jack and Mover
  • We have tested the Trailer Valet, # STC-V211, on a trailer but not on coarse gravel. However, I feel that it would fair well because the dual wheels provide a wide surface area and the wheels are not hard plastic so they can move over a little rougher terrain than your average jack wheel. The bracket takes up 8 inches of real estate on the trailer frame. The unit has a capacity of 5,000 pounds but the further back on the frame it is the harder it will be to use the jack portion and maneuver...

  • Installing Trailer Valet # STC-V211 on Trailer Frame that is Too Narrow for Supplied Hardware
  • If your trailer frame is a bit too small for you to mount the bracket of Trailer Valet # STC-V211 then what I suggest is to simply use a steel spacer plate to take up that slack, rather than use different hardware. Keeping the original hardware avoids any question about strength and compatibility and the extra material at the valet's attachment point will provide reinforcement for the trailer frame. Your local hardware store will have what you need and most likely the cost for the steel...

  • Can Wheel and Jack on Trailer Valet be Easily Removed To Tow a Trailer and Reduce Tongue Weight
  • We have a Trailer Valet set up on a trailer outside so I went out to test it. You can remove the jack and valet part from the mounting bracket that attaches to the trailer. I had to jack it up using the Trailer Valet, slip under a jack stand, and lower the trailer on the jack stand. Then I just raised the jack a little, pulled the pin, and the whole unit can slide off. I also took the measurement from the center of the ball to the outer edge of the tire and it was 4-3/4 inches. This will give you a good idea of if your Fulton X2 will clear or not. I have attached a diagram of the dimensions for your convenience.
