  • Options for Converting Trailer Valet with 2 inch Ball to 2-5/16 inch Ball
  • The bases for the 2 inch ball and 2-5/16 inch ball are the same for the Trailer Valet XL models, so you can swap out one diameter ball for the other. My contact at Trailer Valet says it will just take a good wrench to remove the 2 inch ball and install the 2-5/16 inch ball into your existing base. So you could use just the part # TVHB25 for a new ball if you wanted to. If you would like to be able to switch between the 2 inch ball and 2-5/16 inch ball more easily, you can use the 2-5/16...

  • Valet XL Trailer Dolly Part # TVXL25 Tilting While in Motion
  • I spoke to my contact at Trailer Valet and they informed me that the problem you are experiencing can normally be attributed to one of three different situations. The Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly part # TVXL25 comes with a 2-5/16" hitch ball but if you have a 2" trailer coupler you will need...

  • Trailer Dolly Recommendation for Moving 5,000 lb Trailer by Hand
  • Typically trailer tongue weight is between 10 and 15 percent of the total trailer weight. So for a 5,000 lb trailer the tongue weight is most likely 500 to 750 lbs. I attached an article on determining tongue weight as well for you to check out. The best dolly setup we have is the part # TVXL2 for if you have a 2 inch hitch ball or part # TVXL25 for if you have a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball. Both of these have a 1,000 lb tongue weight capacity and have a crank handle that you can use to...

  • How to Keep Wheels from Spinning or Slipping on Trailer Valet 5X
  • The Trailer Valet 5X, # STC-V211 is a jack that is mounted to your trailer with a bolt-on bracket and therefore, is designed to be used with just the one trailer to which it is attached. It does not come equipped with the ball base, so a ball cannot be mounted or added to the 5X. The Trailer Valet XL differs from the 5X because it is not a permanent jack, but a trailer dolly which is portable and can be used on multiple trailers. • How to Correct Air Leaking from Tires on Trailer Valet Trailer Mover STC-V211
  • If the pneumatic tires on your Trailer Valet # STC-V211 are needing to be aired up each time you use your trailer I suggest either using a tire sealer product like Slime Tire Sealant # SLM10007 or if that does not solve the issue replacing your tires' inner tubes with part # TVIT. The tire on my wheelbarrow used to leak slowly until I applied some sealant. Since the sealant option is less costly I suggest trying that before replacing the inner tubes. The main reason solid tires are...

  • How to Install the Security Bolt on the Trailer Valet 5X Swivel Jack Part # STC-V211
  • It sounds like you are referring to the security bolt which is part 21b in the attached diagram. It does not inhibit the device from being used properly. If you plan to remove the Trailer Valet after every use then you have the option of not installing the bolt and keeping it somewhere safe. • Will Trailer Valet LX Work on a Trailer with Surge Brakes

If you have a manual lockout on the actuator you would want to engage it. Under most circumstances the brakes would not want to engage.

  • Trailer Valet XL Minimum Hitch Ball Height
  • The lowest height for the hitch ball on the Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly with Chain Drive - 2" Hitch Ball - 1,000 lbs TW # TVXL2 (or the # TVXL25 with the larger hitch ball) is 19-1/4 inches at the top of the hitch ball, so you'd be a little tongue high when moving your Scamp Camper. The extra 3-1/2 inches will bring the back end of your camper down, so you will want to account for that when moving the camper with this unit.

  • Fitment of Trailer Valet Solid Rubber Tire on Trailer Valet that Came with Pneumatic Tires
  • I spoke with my contact at Trailer Valet who said that the solid tires, like part # TVXLSR, are bigger than the pneumatic tires and the units that come with pneumatic tires have a smaller housing. The housing on the newer XLs was enlarged to accommodate the larger tires so some of the pneumatic XLs might be able to fit the solid tires, but the 5Xs will not. If you have an XL that is less than a year old, then the solid tires might be able to be retrofitted on the unit.
