Can The Caliber D-Rings Be Mounted Vertically On A Flatbed?

Question:

Can these be mounted vertical on the side of a skirted flatbed? If so does rating diminish with strap pressure pulling d ring to fully open position and applying leverage to back of plating?

Thanks for writing in.

Yes, you can mount the Caliber D-Ring Anchor Kit # CA89VT vertically on the side of your skirted flatbed. These are a universal mount, so mounting them vertically does not change the 5,000 lb capacity.

You will just want to make sure you are mounting them to a solid structural portion of the flatbed and using the included backing plates. The D-ring is designed to pivot with the direction of the strap, so having the strap pull the ring into the fully open position is not a problem when everything is properly mounted.

What are you planning on securing to the flatbed?
