RV Door Parts with Entry Door Locks
You want a lock that fits right, so measure your entry door cutout and door thickness before you choose. These locks include standard and european-style layouts; the european style uses a unique cutout that can limit keyless options. If you prefer, pick a setup with a deadbolt or keyed alike convenience for simple use.
Installation is typically quick, about 5-10 minutes. Start the two screws at the latch and deadbolt first to keep the handle square. On RVs with metal frames, you won't mortise or use a faceplate—careful measuring from the latch face to the 2 3/8" center hole helps. Check screen door clearance and expect a tighter fit if the new handle is larger.
Often not as a simple swap. This style can use a unique 7-7/16" x 3-3/4" cutout that standard keyless handles won't fit. If you do find a keyless option, confirm overall size, the exact cutout, and door thickness. Otherwise expect to keep a keyed handle or modify the door, which isn't usually desirable.
Remove the 4 screws and measure the door opening before ordering. Some European-style locks use a 7-7/16" tall x 3-3/4" wide cutout, so check that first. Verify door thickness too—some kits fit 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" doors, while others list a minimum 1-1/2". If the new lock is larger than the old one, be ready for a trickier install and minor adjustments.
Match what your door is set up for. Rotary-latch styles hide striker hardware inside the frame with only the plunger exposed; switching to this can require cutting the door/frame. If your door uses a standard plunger and strike plate, stick with that style for a quicker, no-cut swap.
