Does 2025 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Require Power Adapter for Install of Furrion Vision S+ System

Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 01/19/2026

Question:

I have a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LTZ. I havent tested it yet, but assume I will have the same problem as others with respect to powering the Furrion Vision S cameras on my Outdoors RV travel trailer. I pulled off the rear camera model FCN48TASF to see what the installation would entail. The power wires that connect to the camera via a connector see photos are very tiny maybe 22 or 24 AWG. Will the VGR64VR still work? Maybe Ill need to swap out the butt connectors for smaller gauge wire?

Hey Mike, your 2025 Chevy Silverado 2500HD will have the power issue with the Furrion Vision S + # FR57AD that you have so you would need a solution like the part # VGR64VR that you referenced. Or if you don't want to mess with any wiring you could just use the plug-in style adapter part # FR87PR which does the same thing. You'd plug your 7-way into it and then plug it into your vehicle 7-way.

But to answer your question the # VGR64VR would work on the thinner gauge wires that you have. For thinner gauge wires like that you might consider soldering the connections to ensure you get a solid connection.

Thanks, that sounds like a plan!

There's an easier solution. Furrion makes an adapter that plugs into your 7-wire connector on your truck. Then the trailer plugs into that.

@John Yep! I mentioned that one too with the part # FR87PR.

I had this wired in on our last trailer (with a late Chevy with the same PWM issue). You don't need to change the wires, just connect it in-line. Ours had a quick connect, soi I re-used that. I tucked the capacitor (eg this thing) back in the hole. For our latest trailer, though, we have the side marker/cameras pre-wired. So I moved over to the dongle option so all cameras have steady 12V power. But if you just have the single rear camera, the in-line solution is much cleaner.

I soldered the wires for the inline filter I installed behind the camera on my 2025 Cougar Half-Ton trailer just to make sure they stayed connected. I have a 2024 Silverado 2500 HD pickup with PWM on the 12V system. The filter made the camera work like it should but I had a difficult time getting it fit into the space behind the camera mount. And when I finally did get it to fit, one of the screws for the mount went right into the capacitor on the filter board. So I had to buy another filter. I was already having sticker shock over the price of the filter and then had to pay it twice! So be very careful that you have the filter positioned out of the way of screws. If your trailer is like mine and was built using the same screws everywhere no matter whether they were the right size for the job, you may also want to use the shortest screw that will work. Furrion apparently did not make the adapter for the 7-way plug at the time I needed a solution because they told me there was nothing they could do for me so I should buy a third-party in-line filter for the camera.
