RV Air Conditioners in Black for Single Zone Setups
Keep things simple with single zone cooling in black. Look for models that fit a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" cutout, which is pretty standard on RVs. If you're moving to newer R32 units, they're not backward compatible with old R410A systems, so plan for a complete system or the correct air distribution box.
Check wiring at the thermostat. Connect the A/C purple and blue to A and B slots on the thermostat. Provide 12v+ and 12v- to the thermostat's 12v+ and ground slots. Connect the furnace wire to the furnace slot; the ground slot next to the furnace slot can remain empty. If red and green A/C wires are present, they may not be used in this setup.
A Single Zone system can push air through the ducts, and some air distribution boxes have a vent you can open or close to direct more air into the ducting. You can run the A/C with the remote and ADB controls. If you have a furnace, you can use the included thermostat or keep a separate wall thermostat to avoid compatibility issues.
Mechanical noise can be minimal, but airflow noise may sound just as loud due to RV ducting. Don't expect a much quieter system from the unit alone if the ducting is the limiting factor. Some setups are described as very quiet and efficient, but results depend on your duct design and airflow path.
