Clean, simple, and easy to live with. A single sink gives you room to wash bigger pans, while a drop-in setup makes sealing and swaps straightforward without reworking the countertop. Depending on the design, install can be as simple as silicone sealant or using studs with L-brackets and wing nuts.
Set it with sealant and secure per the sink's hardware. Some Drop-In models are held with silicone sealant and weighted while it cures. Others use L-brackets on studs with wing nuts—tighten in a rotation. Studs may not be removable. Check access under the counter; mounting screws and tabs can be tricky to set in tight spaces.
Some drains glue instead of threading. One install used ABS to PVC cement because the sink drain pipe did not thread on. Verify if your tailpiece threads or needs cement, and have clear silicone for sealing. Test-fit the pieces before final glue-up to confirm alignment.
A Single Sink Drop-In gives more room for larger dishes and pots and can be easier to seal than an undermount. Several swaps removed a shallow or divided basin for a larger single bowl. Check faucet placement and depth so spray reaches the center and the bowl depth suits your plumbing layout.
It can, but measure carefully. Some found an exact fit, while others notched screw holes or trimmed tabs to sit flush. A deeper bowl may need minor plumbing changes. As a check, some installs worked when the cutout was about 3/4" smaller than the overall size. Dry-fit first to confirm clearance for clips, faucet, and drain.
