Measuring Bolt Pattern To Determine Which Electric Brake Assembly to Use
Updated 07/10/2015 | Published 07/08/2015 >
Question:
Im looking to add electric brakes to my utility trailer. Measuring the wheel lugs, they look like about 5 x 4 7/8 inch . There is nothing stamped or otherwise marked on the wheels to indicate size. Is this close enough to 5 x 5inch Kits on your site?

I would measure the distance between the center of one bolt hole to the center of the bolt hole adjacent to it, and not the diameter. If the distance is:
2-5/8" - the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2
2-3/4" - the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4
3" - the bolt pattern is 5 on 5
3-1/4" - the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2
I have included FAQ article on measuring bolt patterns for your reference.
