If you want a touch more resistance, friction catches with metal clips may have a bit more friction to release, but not a lot of difference.
Yes, Bulldog Catch latches are easy to install. Position the catch and striker so the door or drawer just clicks closed, then tighten the screws. Open and close a few times and tweak the alignment if the hold feels too light or too tight.
Bulldog Catch latches are stronger than magnet holders and other drawer holds. Install and align the parts so the latch fully engages when closed. If the door doesn't stay shut as expected, adjust the striker position to increase the bite.
Bulldog Catches work very well, while friction catches with metal clips may have a bit more friction to release. Test the feel after installation and adjust the striker for a firmer click-in. If you want slightly more resistance, a friction catch can add that without a lot of difference in use.
