Today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install this B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch for your factory prep package on our 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. So this is going to be a direct drop in system for your factory puck system. That means whenever it's out of the bed it's completely flush and it's as if nothing we're there. You can put the plugs back in and you've got full bed access, everything installed by dropping it into those pucks, twisting these handles and getting it locked in.

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over the BMW Companion OEM fifth wheel trailer hitch here on a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3,500. For starters, this is a fixed fifth wheel hitch but it's also available with a sliding base as well depending on your trailer and your bed lengths. Now, generally speaking, the long beds are gonna be able to use the fixed hitch. Whereas the short beds are gonna have to use the sliding hitch. However, there are a few exceptions to that so it would truly best to just measure your trailer and the overhang you have on the nose to ensure it's not gonna come in contact with the cab. So this particular model of this hitch here is gonna be designed for trucks with the factory prep package, or the factory puck system, whatever you wanna refer to that as.

What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, on our 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, we're gonna be taking a look at the Demco Hijacker 5th wheel Autoslide system for your OEM puck system. This system's gonna be for you if you have the OEM puck system and you have a short-bed. Basically, what happens is with the short-beds, as you start turning, a lot of the ones you're gonna have to like manually release so you can slide it back. So, you're not gonna have any damage happening to the cab of your truck. With this one, as it starts to rotate, it's gonna slide back automatically to prevent any contact from happening.

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer and today we're taking a look at the B&W Patriot sliding fifth wheel in a 2020 Chevy Silverado 3500. Something that I recommend to every person that is towing a fifth wheel with a short bed or not a long bed truck is going to be a sliding fifth wheel. There's other ways around, you know, preventing cab corners from getting crushed, you can get a movable pin box and that's gonna help a little bit, but this is a great way, if you're having to navigate in some really tight turns, to have that ability to be able to slide this back, give you that clearance to make that turn, and then you can hit the road after that. Otherwise, you are gonna be stuck with just kind of smaller angles than normal, otherwise you run the risk of damaging your truck. So this is a nice easy way to make that short bed still be able to tow a fifth wheel with no problem. Operate the slide function super easy on here.

Eight-foot beds are becoming more and more uncommon on pickup trucks. Typically, a standard truck nowadays is coming with either a six and a half or six and three quarter foot bed, which is perfectly fine. We can still have plenty of use for that size bed, but when you go to tow a fifth wheel trailer with anything less than an eight-foot bed, you realize real quickly that you lose a lot of clearance.

Now more and more now than ever trucks seem to be getting beds that are smaller and smaller than eight feet, six and 3/4, six and 1/2. That's typically about a standard-sized bed. Now, today we have our fifth wheel mounted onto some BMW rails, but not to worry, you can actually pick up any rails that are going to be the standard size and this will drop into it. Now if you're interested in picking up a set of rails to mount up a fifth wheel we have plenty of options here as well as an install video on this particular rail kit. Now this fifth wheel is rated at 18,000 pounds so it's pretty heavy duty. So for a dually like this this is gonna be a good match for it.
