Good day to you. I have a 2024 Chevy Silverado 3500. It appears the hitch model C36WR and the C16070 are options. Why would you one vs the other? What are the pros and cons between the two?

These 5th wheel hitches are extremely similar with only a couple differences. Both of them fit the factory puck systems in the 2024 Chevy Silverado 3500. I have linked a diagram below from Curt that lists the similarities.

The main difference between the Curt A30 item # C16070 and the Curt PowerRide item # C36WR for your 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 is the Wear Plates item # C52WR. These wear plates for the PowerRide remove the need for using lube plates like item # C16722. The handles themselves have different designs but do operate in the same way by moving front to back to actuate the locking jaws on the hitch.

The Curt A30 item # C16070 weighs quite a bit more at 147 lbs over the Curt PowerRide item # C36WR which weighs 91 lbs.

The other difference is pretty minor, and that's the color. The A30 item # C16070 is black while the PowerRide item # C36WR is gray. That may not be a deal breaker for most people but I thought I'd mention the obvious.

I would go with the Curt PowerRide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # C36WR because it gives you the best value and you don't have to mess with lube plates. Plus it is significantly lighter.

If you go with the PowerRide item # C36WR, I recommend keeping a spare set of the Wear Plates item # C52WR in the event that they become damaged or worn out.
