Features to know about

Plug-and-Play Simplicity: T-One Connector

Tired of complex wiring installations? The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector from Tekonsha makes it easy. Designed for seamless integration with your vehicle, this harness eliminates the need for cutting or splicing wires. Simply plug it into your Honda CR-V's existing ports in the rear cargo area, and you’re ready to hit the road.

Protect Your Vehicle’s Electrical System: ModuLite Powered Converter

Worrying about overloading your vehicle’s circuits while towing? The powered ModuLite converter is here to save the day. It draws power directly from your vehicle’s battery, ensuring your trailer’s lighting system functions perfectly without putting any strain on your car’s electrical system. Enjoy peace of mind knowing your vehicle is protected while the trailer lights up properly.

Effortless Compatibility: Works with Multiple Adapter Types

Not sure if your trailer’s adapter will fit? Fear not—this wiring harness is universally compatible with 4-flat connectors and can connect with 5-, 6-, and 7-pole adapters. Just plug in, and you're good to go with almost any trailer setup.

Road-Ready Durability: Weatherproof Design

Prepare for any weather! The T-One wiring harness is constructed with 16-gauge bonded wire to withstand the elements. Plus, it comes with a dust cap to keep your 4-way flat connector protected when not in use. It's tough enough for any journey, come rain or shine.

Tail Light Functionality: Smart Tail Light Conversion

Looking for seamless integration with your trailer's lighting systems? This harness features a clever built-in tail light converter. It merges your vehicle’s separate brake and turn signals onto one wire, enabling smooth operation of trailer lights. This design keeps it all running smoothly, ensuring you stay visible and safe on the road.

Comprehensive Instructions with Visual Aid: Easy Installation

No guesswork here! Alongside the harness, you get step-by-step instructions complemented by a detailed installation video. Even if you’re not a seasoned mechanic, this guide breaks down everything you need to know into an understandable process, making do-it-yourself installation truly achievable.

Specs

Electrical Specifications

  • Maximum amperage:
    • Stop/turn light: 2.1 amps per circuit
    • Tail lights: 5 amps per circuit

Warranty

  • 1-Year limited warranty

Installation

  • This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area, behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels.
  • Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.
  • It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights.

Note

  • This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

The trailer hitch arrived quickly, and extra items included in the order were packaged with the hitch. Thanks for the quick and accurate service.

Already on the car and works great. It took about 90minutes from start to finish. That included putting everything back together and testing. If I did another one it would only take half th time noe that I know what to expect. All of the other ones involved running a wire under the vehicle to the battery. This item is all within the rear of the vehicle. Only one hole to drill for the ground wire, and that stays inside the car also.
The only problem I encountered was getting the panels off of the interior (bigger pictures would help) .
I would highly recommend this item. It is easily installed by most anyone with a minimum amount of mechanical or electrical skill.

2012 Honda Civic

2012 Honda Civic - Hitch was here 2 days after order placed. My son had it put on in about 1 hour. You do have to cut a hole in the plastic bed pan on the drivers side but it is WAY out of view. The plug and play wire harness took about 45 minutes and works great. Good product.

I ordered this harness and a Curt hitchfor my 2012 Honda CR-V. I have not used the harness yet but the hitch installation went without a "hitch". Took only a hour. Most of that time I spent searching for tools. It looks great and I expect it will perform as intended for many years. Etrailer customer service and delivery are top notch. They matched Amazon price plus 10% as promised. They even upgraded shipping at no extra cost to me. It has been my pleasure doing business with them.

Wiring harness, fits perfectly with the vehicle and has been giving outstanding service throughout the year. Would highly recommend this product.

Very easy installation. Followed the video. Harness worked perfectly. I would recommend an interior panel tool. The hardest part of the job is reaasembling everything. It went fairly easily. I found that there is an order in the way you replace everything. Unfortunately, I learned it by trial and error. I would say it took about 45 minutes to an hour to complete the job.

I ordered this harness for our 2014 Honda CRV in order to pull a 4ft x 4ft trailer to Ohio (700 mi) to bring home some family heirlooms. The local car shop quoted nearly $600 dollars to install the 2” receiver and light plug. Buying both through etrailer was about $450 cheaper and installed in an afternoon. I was a mechanic in military for several years so decided to do it myself. Very easy to do both projects and minimal tools required. I didn’t even get to buy new tools, I had everything at home already. They had links to online videos that made everything simple to understand. These two items have worked perfectly many times and we use the receiver for many things now like a bike rack. Win win, would recommend to anyone.

2008 Honda Odyssey

The weather and my schedule finally cooperated enough for me to install my Trailer Hitch this weekend. I actually installed mine and also I mentioned a week ago to a friend of mine about your trailer hitches and we installed one on his Honda Odyssey at the same time. We started in the morning and had both completed by noon (his van was a 2008 so we had to use a tap to clean out the treads and that took a long time).

The following is what I ordered:
1 T-one Vehicle Wiring Harness
1 Curt Led 4-way Flat Connector Tester
1 Draw-Tite Max-frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Class III - 2

First let me thank you for your quick links to the YouTube videos. They were extremely helpful.

Wiring harness installation:
The only deviation I made from the instructions/video was to route the 4-way Flat Connector out through an existing slot in the lower trim panel rather than sandwich it between the lower panel and the metal frame. If fit through without any issues and I felt it would cause a little less stress and wear and tear on the wires.

I am so very glad I ordered the tester so that I could check to make sure I had everything connected correctly before re-installing the lower and upper trim panels. FYI - The technician in the video re-installing the trim panels must be a Trim Panel Installer - LEVEL EXPERT!! :)

2013 Honda CR-V

I ordered a hitch and the wiring harness on a Monday afternoon. The U.P.S. man delivered two days later on Wednesday at 3-30pm and I had both items installed by 6-30pm.
Quality of both items is first class. Customer service offered by e trailer was just exceptional. Overall a great purchasing experience.
The videos provided for installation are a great help. I watched them a couple of times before I even ordered the products and they certainly help fill in the blanks left in the written instructions.
The comments written by other customers were also invaluable.
I too left the rear panel in place on my CRV and cut the opening leaving a "hinge" at the rear of the car. Just pull it down, slip the hitch into place and replace flap.
I am in my mid seventies so used a floor jack to support the hitch when installing bolts. No problem installing both items on my own.
One minor issue,,,,,,the name plate on the hitch is not installed level!! Other than that small issue, I would highly recommend both products. The product supplier is to be highly commended for the way in which it deals with customers, just superb..

2013 Honda CR-V

I installed the DrawTite hitch in about 45 minutes without any problems. The next day I did the wiring and it was very easy. Once the panels in my 2013 Honda CRV were pulled open, the wiring harness just plugs right in and then the panels are snapped back into place. The wiring took about 35 minutes. Easy installation on the hitch and the wiring. Thanks so much.

Honda

Product is fine, works as advertised.

NOTE:
The installation directions and video MAY be incorrect for your Honda. Both show the blue connector that you attach the tee to as next to a black box behind the left, lower wall panel above the spare tire. Honda does NOT install the connector in the same place in all CRVs. On my '16 CRV, the blue connector was NOT there (see photo and compare to instructions/video). Instead, it was in the tan panel above the panel E-trailer says, directly under the rear-most driver's-side window. You still need to pop out the panel E-trailer directs to then pop out the panel above it, so your time is not wasted.

This receiver hitch is outstanding! I watched the video online and then used the instructions to complete the installation. Since this was my 2nd installation I took my time. No problems...I also installed the wiring kit and everything went smooth, the hitch and wiring both work great!
Thank you for providing a superior product at a fair price.. rm

Clear instructions and easy to install We watched installation video and that helped as well. Used the free shipping and I received the hitch and lighting kit in 2 days! Amazing!

2016 Ford Flex

I recently purchased a trailer hitch and wiring harness for my new 2016 CRV. It arrived quickly and in good shape. After watching the installation videos several times, the installation was quits simple and straight forward. For the cutout in the appearance panel, I made a template to trace using the measurements given in the instructions and cut it out without removing the panel from the car. When the hitch was completely bolted in place, I drilled matching holes (about 3 per side) in the cutout piece and the panel still in place and "laced" them together using small cable ties to cover the opening and then sprayed the spot with Flex Seal to complete the job. Installing the wiring harness was just as shown in the videos. What a difference from the days of identifying wires and splicing them together!

The draw tight hitch and the t one harness install was just as discribed, high quality and easy install made way easier after watching the videos .your site is the best place to get a hitch and accessories for sure , best price by far. The only thing I did different from hitch install video was not drop the plastic splash shield just cut it the same and leave one side ( the driver side edge ) not cut . Like a flap whe done I put it back in place and put little holes in the plastic and secured it with nylon ties . Thanks for a quick delivery.

2016 Honda CR-V

This kit comes exactly as the video shows and the plugs match the Honda CRV wiring plugs exactly (except for color). There is no wire piercing. The drivers side trunk plastic side panel fights you but not much work room is needed since the wiring loom is near the rear and you just have to separate one plug and re-route it through the T plugs in the kit. This "T" is actually a Y of wiring about 5-6 inches long and with the appropriate mating plugs on the ends. They are very distinct and fit only the correct way. Two choices of grounding bolts are close. This trailer light package is much more like a factory installation, and much less costly. See the video first.

This factory like wiring kit installs just as I said, and works fine, no fuses blown etc. Trailer light problems have only been with the salt water immersed tail lights.

Thanks for the follow up. As an extra precaution to prevent any additional blown fuses we recommend disconnecting the trailer wiring harness from your CR-V before launching your boat. Just make sure that you secure both wiring ends to ensure they are not immersed as well.

This trailer hitch wiring harness is excellent. The directions for installation were easy to follow, especially with the video. It installed fairly quickly except for my own mistake of dropping one of the panel clips and spending time looking for it. The harness works great and tucks away nicely under the spare tire cover when not in use.

I bought the class III hitch and bike rack from etrailer.com last year, and wanted to finish the job with the harness so I can do some towing. This is just a fantastic product. Great video makes it an absolute breeze. The hardest part was learning how to take apart and reassemble the interior since I have never done anything like this to any vehicle (automotive work is not my "thing"). So there was an initial learning curve for me even with the video showing in detail how to do it. But once I had the interior apart, the actual install was literally minutes. Cant wait to roll down the road towing my water toys:) Thanks George!

Ordered trailer hitch, wiring harness and floor mats. Did a phone order and price matched the items. Correct items received quickly and within a day of estimated delivery discussed on the phone. Have not installed yet but the video is helpful and should make assembly easier. The products appear to be as advertised. Very good process so far. I have recommended etrailer already.

Wow! What an excellent product. No splicing of wires- just plug and play. Kit included everything, even the proper fuse to use in my vehicle's fuse block. Written instructions were very good, but I also used Etrailer's website installation video which made it a no brainer- most excellent! As a side note: hats off to Honda for having the 12 volt source pre-wired all the way to the fuse block. All I had to do was plug this unit in line behind the left rear tail light, pop the fuse in, dress up the wired and DONE! It can't be any better than this.

Everything I ordered to install the hitch on my CR-V installed as described. Honda didn't make the installation simple but the instructions overcame this and I got everything installed in a couple of hours; saving myself $600.00 from the factory installation. Ordered from etrailer previously and liked the quality of the products they sell and the hitch came well crated with a minimum of dings to the paint which was easy enough to touch up.

Just installed the wiring kit118561 on my new 2014 Honda CR-V It connects very easy as shown in the video. Biggest problem is the release of the front lower panel after you remove rug and the next step in the video. It was stubborn so I released the lower rear panel after taking off the other clips and bolts as in the video. I was able to get enough room and removed the back part of the upper panel far enough to see the wire connection. Enough room ro split the connection and install the kit wires. I ran the wires up through behind the other wires in vehicle before making my connection. Worked great and putting in the rest was gravy. The panels snapped back together easily as I did not have them completely removed to start with. The 2 push clips on the rear panel along the back are junk as they will probably not be able to be used again. Put in a small bolt and nut or see if you can find a couple of clips. They are covered up anyway by the tire cover. Video is correct as to where the 7.5 amp fuse goes. Directions with wiring kit are wrong. It goes in the 6th space from the right in the bottom row and not where it shows in directions as that spot is filled. This is on the 2014 CR-V. Remember when putting the panels back in you have to slide the rubber moulding trim on the rear out of the way as you put the panels down tight.Hope this is helpfulpl

installed on a 2013 Honda CRV for a small trailer.
package was wet on delivery and seemed to have some damage to it.
the blinkers worked but were all extremely dim.
when installing it you do not need cut and splice the wires through a grommet hole(that was my fault did not take thing apart enough) on the drivers side on the under the paneling.

  • Why Would Trailer Wiring Harness for 2014 Honda CR-V Have Trailer Taillights Dim
Hey Mark, what you described is definitely the main converter box of the trailer wiring harness being damaged. This would have been caused by a trailer wiring short that made it's way to the converter box and damaged it. I know its frustrating but the box is designed to do this in the event of a short to basically stop the potential of the short making its way to the taillight circuits. It's probably not the answer you want to hear but it's time for a new trailer wiring harness like the...

  • Best Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for 2015 Honda CR-V
For trailer wiring the brand we have the best luck with is Tekonsha. They are the most reliable and overall give us the fewest problems. The majority of the time we have an issue with a wiring harness it's a Curt brand. And they've redesigned a few times with the same result. So for your 2015 Honda CR-V you'd want the # 118561 which is a confirmed fit and will work well. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

It will provide you with a 2 inch receiver opening and has a 675 pound tongue weight capacity along with a 4,500 pound towing weight capacity. • Recommended Replacement Trailer Connector Wiring for 2013 Honda CRV
It sounds like you have done your due diligence in finding the issue. Unfortunately there is not just a converter box replacement option available. I recommend replacing your wiring with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118561 which is a confirmed fit for your 2013 Honda CRV. • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring of 2016 Honda CR-V that Has Voltage on Turn Signal All the Time
Sounds like you the converter box of the trailer wiring you installed shorted out and and is now in need of being replaced. This is a pretty common problem. If you test for voltage before the converter box and find the correct voltage is making it to the box but not to the output side then the box has been damaged an in need of replacement. For that the most reliable replacement we have would be the Tekonsha kit part # 118561 as we've found their converter boxes to be the most reliable.

  • How to Transport 225 Dirt Bike with 2014 Honda CR-V
I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2014 Honda CR-V, and while it does not specifically list a tongue weight capacity, it does state under the towing section that a trailer's tongue weight should be 10 percent of the trailer's total weight. Since the manual does list a towing capacity of 1,500 pounds, it's pretty safe to assume that the vehicle has a 150 tongue weight capacity, which would apply to the combined weight of your 225 pound dirt bike plus the weight...

  • No Running Lights After Installing Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2014 Honda CR-V
It could possibly be the ground wire on the wiring harness on your 2014 Honda CR-V. Make sure it is attached to a clean bare metal non-painted or coated surface. It could also be a fuse. The harness comes with a small 7.5 amp fuse and if that is not installed or is blown then that could be the problem as well. To test to see if the harness is the problem use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993. Test the wires going into the converter box from the vehicle. When the vehicle running lights...

  • Can You Carry a Motorcycle On the Back Of a 2015 Honda CR-V
The class III trailer hitch options which are the highest available for a 2015 Honda CR-V such as the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98868 which is what I recommend have a 3,500 lb gross trailer weight rating and a 350 lb tongue weight rating. That said, the 2015 Honda CR-V is only rated for 1,500 lb gross trailer weight and 150 lbs tongue weight. In regards to towing/hauling, you are always limited by your weakest rated component which in case is the vehicle so that you limit....
