will this hitch support / carry a 280 pound motor cycle

The class III trailer hitch options which are the highest available for a 2015 Honda CR-V such as the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98868 which is what I recommend have a 3,500 lb gross trailer weight rating and a 350 lb tongue weight rating. That said, the 2015 Honda CR-V is only rated for 1,500 lb gross trailer weight and 150 lbs tongue weight. In regards to towing/hauling, you are always limited by your weakest rated component which in case is the vehicle so that you limit.

If you choose to still carry the motorcycle then you'll need a very light carrier, the etrailer Motorcycle Carrier part # e98873 which only weighs around 58 lbs. If you choose to carry the motorcycle on a trailer which is what I must recommend then you'll need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118561 and etrailer Ball Mount Kit part # 989900.
