If you have no trailer wiring presently on your truck I recommend the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part # 118329 first. This simply plugs into the existing wiring on your truck along the frame rail as shown in the attached video.
You will then need part # ETBC7 to plug into the 4-way connector and with additional wiring will give you the 7-way you need. There is no plug and play wiring harness available for your Ram. The ETBC7 is typically installed when someone is installing a brake controller on a vehicle. If you are looking to install a brake controller I recommend part # 90885. This is one of our best brake controllers because it is easy to install and operate. I have attached a link to an installation video for a brake controller on a Dodge Ram truck you can check out.
If you have a 7-way connector at the rear of your truck and you are looking for a gooseneck wiring harness I recommend part # C56071. This harness plugs into the existing truck wiring and then gives you a 7-way connector you can mount in the truck bed for a gooseneck trailer connector while retaining the 7-way connector on the back of your truck.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
