Hey Scott. If your 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 came with a 7-way from the factory, you can install the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector item # C56071. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. It will plug directly into the factory wiring a foot or so back from your 7-way connector.
Does your 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 have a factory 7-way connector?
