Great product, excellent packing, fast shipping, wonderful service. Thank you. Steve

After a great consultation with Jameson I ordered the to upgrade our Reese wd hitch. Initially, they were worried about back order this. Amazingly, instead of February, they arrived in about 10 days. trailer is great. Thanks William S!

by:

This part was for a older hitch and according to etrailer it had not been made in a while and the stock had been depleted. I ask etrailer if they could leave my order open and have them check when the part would be manufactured again. I called in occasionally to check and they would tell me the updates. After about a month and a half they informed me when the part would be ready to ship to me. I feel that when there is no parts to be had that a company like etrailer can really help you get the manufacture to make more.

by:

Part was as described but the trailer pulled horrible. Ended up selling the entire assy and purchased a shocker Hitch. Very pleased with that.

by:

I appreciate the expertise and knowledge of the staff at etrailer--they never appear anxious to sell a product; rather, they take the time to understand the needs of the customer, then suggest the right product to meet those needs. Due to an error--perhaps not even on their part--I was shipped the wrong weight-distribution bars. They were eager and prompt to ship me the correct bars--and paid for the return shipping on the original order, when, as I mentioned, the error may not have been their fault. When I need trailer parts and accessories, I'll look no farther than etrailer from now on.

by:

The second bar appears to be correct.
The
first replacement bar was wrong some one wrote the part number that I ordered on the bar that wasn't correct.
The original bar was lost because I didn't put the pin in (user screw-up).
Shipping was great service was good wondering where the part was when the part # was hand written on it and by who ? OH and approved by who?

by:

These 1500 lb Reese Trunnion bars brought my F-250 back to level like nobody's business while towing a 30 ft TT. The 800 lb bars that I used prior accomplished nothing toward this goal.

by:

I purchased a toy hauler travel trailer recently and found I had 1180 lbs of tongue weight and my old hitch setup was rated at 600 lbs max
I was relieved to find etrailer sold the 1500 lb max trunnions arms, this saved me from replacing everything
thanks etrailer

by:

Product as described, customer service 2nd to none, they went above and beyond to ensure that I received my entire order even having the manufacture ship one item directly to me to meet my timeline for picking up my new trailer I’m a life long customer!!!

by:

The products were exactly what I wanted and of the best quality available. I cant say enough about the customer service folks at etrailer.com, there was a question about my difference in shipping and billing address' and they called me (on a Sun.) to make sure it was straight and got my order right out. Grade A+

by:

These bars did the trick. Very helpful in leveling the trailer/truck load. Originally purchased 1250 lb unit but found that tongue weight exceeded capacity.

by:

So far so good , fast prompt had what i needed in a pinch and got it out to me the same day . im sure the load distribution hitch with work just fine . It was exactly what i needed . Thanks to Steven C for coming through for me when i was in a time constraint !!!

by:

Great bar replacement

by:

Fast shipping and great service with a great price .....can’t ask for much more along with shipping updates . It’s so easy with etrailer, don’t waste your time with amateurs, buy from the pros !!!!

by:

You guys r the best.. I've ordered few stuff from u guys and it has always been fast shipping.. My last order u guys delivered it in few days .. That's awesome service... Thks

by:

Kudos to Rose. Gave excellent advice on size of the spring bars I needed. Ordered late Monday and received on Thursday. Great service. Will definitely use etrailer for my future towing requirements. Thanks.

by:

Customer service was great. The item I ordered was going to be on back order for some time and they were able to find a substitute that was in stock. The substitute was a step up from what I had ordered and turned out to be less expensive.

by:

I am very pleased with the tourqe arms when they finaly arrived. I had ordered in early may and the item was put on a back-order.
Tammie with the sales staff was wounderfull on keeping me abreast with the statis of the order. The frustration was totaly due to the shippments being pushed back, but I was keep informed.there also a gentelman that was involved and I dont recall his name as he was very helpfull too!
GREAT JOB SALES FOLKS ...

Thank again

  • Best Weight Distribution with Sway Control for 2025 Brinkley Z Air 297
Hey Jon, I have a solution for you but I would not recommend the Andersen Weight Distribution system part # AN33VR for your 2025 Brinkley Z Air 297. What we have found is that the Andersen system does a decent job with lighter weight trailers but for something as heavy as yours it's not going to be very effective at all. This is due to the mechanism being a chain that pulls horizontally instead of a spring bar that pushes up. So what I would recommend as your best solution would be the...

  • Weight Distribution System Needed for a Trailer with a Tongue Weight of 2,300 lbs.
If the loaded tongue weight (TW) of your trailer is around 2,300 lbs then any weight distribution (WD) system that is rated for a max of 1,200 lbs TW will not be strong enough to help out at all. Check your TW to ensure that it is 10-15% of the loaded weight of your trailer. If it isn't you need to move stuff around until you achieve the 10-15% area. If it is already 10-15% of the loaded weight of your trailer then the only WD system that we have that will help is the TorkLift SuperHitch...

  • Can Reese Trunnion Bar Weight Distribution System be Upgraded to Have Higher Rated System
Hey George, yes you can swap the springs bars you have now with the part # RP58369 and you will have a higher rated Reese weight distribution system like you are wanting to have. This system would have a tongue weight range of 800-1,500 lbs.

  • What Trunnion Spring Bars do I Need for My Reese Head Part # 58167 ?
Hello Randall, When picking out the correct trunnion bars to go with your Reese 58167 weight distribution head it is most important to be as close to the loaded tongue weight as possible. Your tongue weight will typically fall between 10-15% of the overall trailer weight. You mentioned a weight capacity of 9K, but I think you are referring to how much the F150 can pull. The best way to find out your trailers tongue weight is to load up the trailer as you normally would and use something...

  • Replacement Parts for Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System
We do carry replacement parts for weight distribution systems like the excellent Reese Straight-Line systems such as # RP66083. It sounds like you have everything except the trunnion spring bars and the shank, which is what fits into your hitch receiver and holds the head assembly. I linked our page for Reese trunnion spring bars. The type you need has a bend in the trailer end, such as # RP58369. You will want to select two bars based on your fully-loaded trailer's actual measured tongue...

  • Replacement Reese Trunnion Spring Bars for Reese WD System and 1,500 lb Tongue Weight
I can tell by the picture you submitted that you have current Reese trunnion style spring bars by the square shape and the curved end I see on the bar. Since you have a tongue weight of 1,200 lbs then the bars you'd need are going to be the 1,000 to 1,500 bars part # RP58369. You'll need a quantity of 2 of these.

  • Reese Strait-Line Trunnion Bar Upgrade for Larger Trailer
Changing the bars to a weight rating that will wok like the 1200 lb bars # RP66009 you referenced will make a huge difference in the ride quality. WIth a loaded trailer tongue weight of 1,000 lbs you just want to make sure you don't have any more than 200 lbs behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle or you would want the larger bars # RP58369 rated for 800-1500 lbs. The dual cam adjustment with the chains is a micro adjustment that will let you adjust for comfort. The instructions of...

  • Parts Needed to Upgrade Reese 800 lb Strait-Line Weight Distrubtion Hitch to 1500 lbs
To upgrade your current Reese Strait-Line system, all you'd need to do is replace the existing trunnion bars (assuming that your current system uses trunnion bars) with 1500 lb bars, part # RP58369 which are sold individually. If you currently use round bars, you'll need to convert to a trunnion system as Reese discontinued the round bar Strait-Line systems. • Upgrading Trailer Hitch and Adding Timbren Helper Springs to a 2005 Chevy Suburban 4x4
You can install a different hitch or suspension enhancement but the vehicle capacity is set in stone. Adding the above mentioned parts or other parts won't increase the capacity of the vehicle. The 12,000 pounds you see in the owner's manual is actually the gross combined weight rating. This is the most that the trailer and vehicle can weigh together and not the towing capacity of the vehicle. For the 1500 4x4 models if you have the 4800 motor with 3.42 rear end the maximum trailer weight...

  • Reese Trunnion Bar Recommendation for 740 lbs of Loaded Trailer Tongue Weight
Since your loaded tongue weight is only 740 lbs you want to go with the 1,200 lb bar, part # RP66009, as this gives you a tongue weight range of 600 lbs - 1,200 lbs which is more than enough for your towing setup. If you went with the 1,500 lb bar # RP58369 it would give you a tongue weight range of 1,000 lbs - 1,500 lbs so the weight distribution system would be too strong unless you plan on loading at least 260 lbs of cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle.

  • Recommendation For Reese Replacement Trunnion Bars For Weight Distribution
As you mentioned, the trunnion spring bars do come in various weight ratings. Increasing your weight distribution capacity will improve your weight distribution. Either the 1500-lbs trunnion spring bars, Item # RP58369, or the 1700-lbs trunnion spring bars, Item # 66010, will work with several Reese weight distribution systems. I recommend going with the 1700-lbs trunnion spring bars, Item # 66010, so long as it will work with your weight distribution system. Send me details about...

  • Is the Reese # RP58369 1500 lb Weight Distribution Spring Bar the Same Length as # 66010
The Reese # RP58369 1500 lb spring bar is a compatible replacement if you were planning on towing a trailer with a lower tongue weight. The 58369 is the same length as the # 66010, so the frame brackets wouldn't need to be relocated and the Dual Cam arms wouldn't need to be adjusted.

  • Parts Needed to Use Reese Trunnion Weight Distribution on Another Trailer
Yes, you can get the individual parts of Reese weight distribution system # RP66542 needed to use the system on a second trailer. First, you will need the frame brackets that mount on the trailer frame. For both brackets I recommend # RP6637. You can also add new chains with # 55630 but you will need to order 2 of them. This would be if you have to also use different bars. For the bars you can use the same ones that you have if the tongue weight of the new trailer is 600 to 1,200 pounds....

  • If Tongue Weight is at the Spring Bar Max Capacity Does a Weight Distribution System Still Work
If your tongue rating is right at 1,200 lbs you estimate then I would recommend going to a 1,500 lb spring bar like the Replacement Trunnion Spring Bar # RP58369 since you are probably over your 1,200 lb rating in actuality. A weight distribution system over its capacity will not be effective at all. If you are right at your capacity it's probably a good time to upgrade. I would recommend you determine your tongue weight. Check out the FAQ article I attached that details how to do this.

  • Can Higher Capacity Spring Bars be Used in Place of Original Bars on Reese Strait-Line System
Looking at the weights you have provided the dry tongue weight of 870 pounds is 11 percent of the empty gross trailer weight of 7,809 pounds. So if loaded to 9,670 pounds then 11 percent of that would be 1,064 pounds which is still well within the capacity of system # RP66074 (600 to 1,200 pounds). However, when calculating tongue weight for weight distribution you also have to add in the weight of anything carried behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. So it is possible that if you...
