Parts Needed to Use Reese Trunnion Weight Distribution on Another Trailer
Updated 02/23/2016 | Published 02/21/2016 >
Question:
I have this existing system for our travel trailer. We are buying a separate trailer that will be using this same hitch. Is it possible to purchase just the bars and attachments for the trailer separate from Reese so that I can use the same hitch assembly for both trailers and not have to swap them between uses?

Yes, you can get the individual parts of Reese weight distribution system # RP66542 needed to use the system on a second trailer.
First, you will need the frame brackets that mount on the trailer frame. For both brackets I recommend # RP6637. You can also add new chains with # 55630 but you will need to order 2 of them. This would be if you have to also use different bars.
For the bars you can use the same ones that you have if the tongue weight of the new trailer is 600 to 1,200 pounds. If the new trailer tongue weight is 400 to 800 pounds you would want 2 of # RP22225. If the tongue weight is 800 to 1,500 pounds then you would need 2 of # RP58369. And if the tongue weight is 200 to 600 pounds you would want 2 of # RP23227.
