Question:
I’m looking at a travel trailer, 10k gvwr and is reported to have a pretty hefty tongue weight of around 1,200lbs. I currently have parts of a Reese weight distribution hitch and wanted to know what else I would need and if it would be compatible with a trailer that size. I have the shank- #63971 and the head, #113802

Thank you for providing that information. Based on the tongue weight you will want the Replacement Trunnion Spring Bar for Reese Weight Distribution System - 1,500 lbs TW # RP58369. These have a tongue weight range of 800-1,500 lbs. You may also need the Reese Replacement Weight Distribution Chain Kit # 3216 and the Replacement Lift Brackets with Handle for Reese Weight Distribution Systems # RP6637.
If you want sway control, you can add the Reese Dual Cam High-Performance Sway Control for Steel Trailer Frames
Item # RP26002. These parts will basically turn your WDH into the # RP66131 or if you add sway control it would be the # RP66130. If you don't have a ball you can use the # 19286 for a 2-5/16" ball or the # A-90 for a 2" ball.
