Hello neighbors, I'm Steven with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look together at this Hellwig Load Pro 35 heavy duty helper spring kit with the custom mounting kits. This is a three inch wide spring and it is a custom fit. Make sure you're using our website's fit guide page. Enter your year, make and model. Make sure you're getting the right part for your specific vehicle the first time.
Now, these custom helper springs give an upgrade to your factory leaf springs, and they do reduce sway and body roll. They're also gonna prevent sagging when towing or hauling the heavy loads, and they're gonna extend the life of your factory suspension, your tires, your brakes, that kind of stuff. Now, these will flex with your leaf springs to limit bouncing. So I got this mocked up, but picture of your leaf spring underneath this whole setup. So where these blocks are, your leaf spring would go under there through all them U bolts, and this leaf spring will sit on top of your leaf springs.
Now the good thing is the driver and passenger side can be adjusted independently for uneven loads. So let's say you got like a heavy sided camper or whatnot and RV or whatever, you could, you know, set that one a little stiffer if you needed to to get it raised back up. Now again, this is a custom install kit. It's made of durable steel construction. It's gonna give you a long last performance.
It's got a nice black powder coat finish. It's gonna resist corrosion and that kind of stuff. Now, I wanna zoom in on the step bracket, they call it. You've got five holes, including the center one here. I've just got this loosely put together for demo.
But you can see that nice hammered finish. That's what they call a silver vein or hammer tone finish. And again, the springs themselves have a nice black powder coat finish. Everything here is made in the USA. You're gonna get all the hardware included. Now, I wanna note you want to make sure you follow the instructions, obviously, installing this, but this particular guy here, you kind of see maybe it's got like a curved bracket here on top of a spacer block. That actually goes on top of this side. And you can see in the front spring, the U bolt goes on the top. So make sure you're checking all the instructions to get the right orientation when you're installing everything. Now, these do come with a 3,500 pound weight rating. And keep in mind that these springs will not increase your current vehicle's weight carrying capacity. You're just giving it help. So again, these are just helper springs. You're not adding weight capacity to your vehicle. Now again, you're gonna get everything here, again, I've got it mocked up here. You've got nice big U bolts here on the end. They've got bracketry, nuts, bolts, washers, all that kind of good stuff that you need for the install. Now, if you notice here, there's four U bolts in the front here. You may or may not need them. You may put them in this position where these current ones are, depending on height restrictions, those kind of things. Again, check the instructions that are included. Make sure you're doing it right. Now these do, again, have a nice lifetime warranty. And one thing to keep in mind, if your vehicle is equipped with what's called a brake fluid proportioning valve, then this constant rate spring is not recommended. Only progressive rate helper spring should be used in your case. Now, if your vehicle is equipped with a factory contact overload, it may need to be removed before installing these new helper springs. So again, just consult the instructions, make sure that you're looking at everything completely before you do any installs. And also never install these on vehicles with composite or plastic leaf springs. That's right, there are some plastic and composite leaf springs out there. These will not work with those. They'll be way too heavy for 'em. Well folks, that's gonna wrap it up for our look at these Hellwig Load Pro 35 heavy duty helper springs with the custom mounting kit. I'm Steven. I hope this information's been helpful. Thanks for watching and have a great day.

I did however mock the overloads up on the truck to make sure everything was going to fit. I need these to help with tongue weight on a bigger fifth wheel rv I tow. I like the fact that I can adjust preload tension. I also have timbrens under the truck but need to correct some sway under windy conditions. Time will tell.
