Great product. Packaging came damaged but product looked ok.

by:

The rear hatch mounted rack fit my X3 just as your website indicated - the technician who described how this rack would fit. I'm impressed with how well it is designed to be stable and to not impact the plastic spoiler above the rear window.

by:

Great bike rack. The cable and hook system is extremely strong and tight and being bike to open the trunk with the rack attached (but without bike) is a godsend for packing. Assembly is somewhat difficult due to Thule’s IKEA-style picture instructions. Watching the video is essential. Once assembled, however, attaching and locking the rack in place is pretty simple. Be sure to wash and dry hooks, bumpers, and car surfaces to avoid scratches!

by:

The rack is great just what I was looking for.
The only issue I see is the straps are plastic so after using them for a little bit they broke. I had to order replacements. Let’s see how much time they last!

by:

Pretty straight-forward on how to affix to trunk, any questions are covered nicely throughout the instruction booklets. Once fastened, everything is confidently snug.
The only thing I was initially concerned about was the potentiality that the clamps might not fit around my frame (being a thicker-framed MTB). I actually found a YouTube video of somebody reviewing the item and they actually showed some good ideas for how to fit the bike securely to the rack. Once you get that dialed-in, it's as sound as a pound. Haven't had any issues with the rack and don't even worry about it or the bike while driving. Worth the purchase.

Originally I was looking to put a hitch on my 2021 jeep renegade sport for a hitch mount bike rack, after seeing that I would either have to remove seam sealer and drill holes in my rear subframe (this is not a good option living in the rust belt), or remove my entire back bumper off and cut holes in it for the factory style hitch, and still have a rack that is illegal and blocks my license plate/brake lights turn signals I decided to look at different options. A roof rack is a little too high to lift a bike on comfortably. This thule outway platform 2 takes about 10 minutes to install correctly, and is solid and holds the bike securely, and the rack locks to the vehicle, and also the bikes lock to the rack no extra purchases required (comes with 2 keys and plastic spoiler supports). I have driven 80mph over potholes and bumps, also on extreme hills and has held securely.

by:

I've got this rack for a Corolla SE 2025. It took me some time to figure out how it would fit. As other reviewers mentioned, the instructions are far from perfect. But as far as the product goes, the rack looks pretty robust and sturdy. The shopping experience with Trailer was very positive. They kept in touch during the process, which I appreciated.

by:

Ordered for a 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid and it fits perfectly. Carrier feels solid and was easy to put together and mount on vehicle.

  • Will The Thule OutWay 3 Fit A 2011 Lexus RX 350
I do have a solution for you. While the Thule OutWay 3-Bike Rack # TH56BV is not a confirmed fit for your 2011 Lexus RX 350. My recommendation would be the Saris Bones EX 3 Bike Rack # SA803. This rack is sturdy, capable of carrying 3 bikes at 33 lbs each and yet is still lightweight at 11 lbs which makes mounting to your Lexus easier. Saris provides a limited lifetime warranty as well so they stand behind their product quality. If you're transporting kids or alternative frame bikes,...

  • Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2014 Infiniti QX60
The Thule OutWay 3-bike # TH56BV would be what I would recommend for your 2014 Infiniti QX60. It is a confirmed fit and the nicest rack around. What makes this rack far superior to the others is the attachment system. It uses only 2 retractable coated steel cables to attach to the vehicle rather than 6 nylon straps like other racks. This makes installation quick and easy and the cables also last longer. The cables store inside the rack so there are no loose straps ends to flap around....

  • Trunk-Mounted Bike Rack for Honda Insight
A trunk or hatch-mounted bike rack is not recommended for the first generation (2000-2006 model year) Honda Insight due to the fact that the rack would have to attach to the rear glass, which does not have sufficient strength to support the rack and the bikes installed on it. Because no receiver hitches or roof rack options are available for that vehicle, I am afraid I cannot provide any suggestions for carrying a bike with the first generation Insight. If your Insight is of the second...

Hollywood Racks does not recommend any of their racks for your 2005 Volvo C70 Convertible. Instead, I would recommend the Thule OutWay Trunk Bike Rack for 3 Bikes # TH56BV. This trunk rack is perfect for carrying 3 bikes on your convertible. It attaches easily with 2 rubber-coated straps that let you raise your trunk or hatch without removing it from your Volvo XC70. It even works well with most spoilers. The OutWay is by far the easiest trunk mounted rack to use since it uses only 2...

I do have an option for you but the Thule OutWay 3-Bike Rack part # TH56BV will not fit your 2014 Acura TSX Sport Wagon. Instead, I recommend the Yakima HangOut 3 Bike Rack part # Y02638 so long as you do not have the power liftgate. This is actually the only trunk mount 3-bike rack I have found to be a confirmed fit for your vehicle. The HangOut has anti sway cradles to keep your bikes from making contact with the vehicle/each other, adjustable arms to ensure the bikes are carried at a...

  • What Bike Rack do You Recommend for a 2010 Lexus GS 350 SUV?
For a heavier (50 pound) electric bike that is easy to load on your vehicle, I recommend a hitch rack. For the rack itself, a great option is the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 1-1/4" Hitches - Frame Mount # Y96FR. The OnRamp has a maximum per-bike weight capacity of 66-pounds per bike and includes an integrated ramp that allows for you to roll the bike onto the securing platform without lifting the bike off the ground. Another great feature of the OnRamp is the securing...

  • Trailer Hitch for a 2009 Honda Accord Sedan and a Bike Rack
For your 2009 Honda Accord sedan I recommend Curt trailer hitch # C11496. With the other hitch options there is an additional part you would need to be able to use a bike rack but not with this hitch. This and all of the hitches for your Accord are Class I hitches with 1-1/4 inch receivers. Class I trailer hitches are rated for a maximum of 2 bikes because it cannot handle additional weight that is further away from the receiver. I have linked the Class I compatible 2-bike racks for you....

The Thule OutWay # TH56BV is not a confirmed fit on your 2017 BMW 220i. For your vehicle, the inside of your tailgate does require a different fit. I recommend the Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms # Y02634 or 3 Bike # Y02633. When you look at the attached instructions the upper hooks must be changed and installed in anchor mode on your vehicle. This allows the inside of the hatch to carry the weight and not the outside trim. If you already have the OutWay...

  • Do I Need To Use The Spoiler Support Straps For The Thule OutWay Trunk Bike Rack
We do recommend always using the spoiler support strap for additional stability and safety. Loosening the strap can be done fairly quickly, even quicker once you get the hang of it. From the looks of the spoiler on the back of a 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV you will definitely want to use the spoiler support strap kit that comes with the Thule OutWay Trunk Bike Rack # TH56BV.

  • How To Carry 4 Bikes On A 2008 Mazda 5
I do have a couple options for you but Class I hitches like the Draw-Tite Class I Sport Frame part # 24773 that fits the 2008 Mazda 5 are designed to only carry 2 bikes because of it's limited tongue weight rating. The weight of the bikes and bike rack is all considered tongue weight on the hitch and putting 4 bikes on a rack in a Class I hitch would create too much leverage and possibly damage the hitch or vehicle. With that being said, I recommend to get a 2 bike rack for the Class I...

  • Can Thule OutWay Trunk Rack Be Used On 2025 BMX X3
Hello Parth, thanks for reaching out. The Thule OutWay Trunk Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # TH45JV will work on a 2025 BMW X3. You will want to place the top clips in the gap at the front edge of the top of the hatch, then place the lower clips in the bottom edge of the hatch. The Thule OutWay 3-Bike Rack # TH56BV that you referenced has been confirmed as a fit for your 2016 Toyota RAV4. I have attached a review video of the 2 bike OutWay on a similar vehicle as yours for you to see the rack installed. Saris has not confirmed any of their trunk mount racks as a fit for the 2016 RAV4. • Three Bike Carrying Option for 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid
Because the vehicle can be damaged due to the weight of 3 bikes it's not recommended that a 3 bike trunk mount rack be used on this vehicle. Your best bet would be to install a hitch and use a hitch mounted bike rack if you need to carry three bikes. For a hitch, I'd recommend the Draw-Tite class II hitch, part # 36798-SK. This hitch is a no-drill application that most folks could install on their own if they're fairly handy. I've linked to the installation instructions. If you were...

I have a great solution for you. Unfortunately, I confirmed with Thule that the Thule OutWay 3 # TH56BV will not fit on your 2020 Honda Odyssey. However, a great alternative is the Saris Bones EX 3 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms # SA803. The Bones EX 3 will safely attach safely with your rear spoiler on your vehicle. I wouldn't recommend leaving a trunk mount bike rack like the Thule OutWay # TH45JV for 2 bikes or the # TH56BV for 3 bikes on your 1999 Toyota 4Runner and opening the rear hatch.
