Drawbar sold separately.Arrived in a timely manner, as is described on website, packaging was really good, and works perfect on my VW Golf 2013. The only thing I would say doesn't have to do with the product, but the directions in installation. Tip: buy new bolts when removing oem bolts on your VW Golf 2013. Mine torqued to specifications caused the bolt to break. Was a pain to remove a broken bolt, so for others, just go to VW dealership and get 2 new bolts (plenty on hand). Nonetheless, this is such an easy installation. I purchased ramps to work under my car, rented torque tool at car parts store and elongated socket I had to buy. Save yourself money when you follow my tip. I'm certainly enjoying having a hitch! Thanks etrailer.com best price all around!
Hitch was to big for box. Complained. Got paint sent with no nozzle. What is really going on. I would assume this is a joke right

I am rally not sure what happened there however I know our intention was not to make it worse. I will have our Customer Service team contact you.
After a year of use, the product has held up well. No issues at all. Product comes with extremely well detailed instructions, make sure you follow them, torque the bolts to spec, and you should have a worry free product installed with zero issues to worry about.

Great. I use it for my bike rack attachment 3-5 days per week. Could not live without it. Great product, still looks as good as day one.
The most straight forward install ever. Excellent instructions, four bolts and your done. The only thing you really need is a torque wrench. Well designed product and no interference with stock exhaust on my 2011 VW GTI.
I'm excited to have the hitch mount. I used to have a hatch mount for my bikes, but they tend to destroy the paint and my wiper became useless, so with my new car I needed a hitch mount bike rack. Here are a few pictures I just took.
I got this for my son so he could haul his e-bike on a bike rack. He absolutely loves it. Ordering was simple and delivery was quick.
It has held up fantastically on my 2014 VW Golf TDI, and is a great fit for my Hollywood bike rack! There is no looseness or play on the receiver, though I just need to be extra careful going over speed bumps now.
Extremely easy install on my vw golf , although they were wrong about installation time , they said 15 min , it was actually 17 min ??, great instructions & fast service , no complaints, nice low profile considering my vw is already VERY low , snug fit , perfect !

It is perfect
Hitch fit as described. Spent more time locating correct tools, jacking car, and calibrating torque wrench. The exhaust hanger/exhaust muffler is close in proximity to the hitch structure but I have not visually or audibly detected contact.

Was easy to install and it seems extremely solid; even better than the hitch I mounted on my old 2000 VW Golf. For this one I didn't need to drill any holes.

Still works great. Just used it last week.
I received the hitch and my husband and I installed it the next day. Well, we took it to our mechanic. He had it installed quickly. He said it was a great piece of engineering. We now have our bike rack on there and it works great.
I would definitely recommend these hitches, as would my mechanic who was surprised we could order this. Everything went on exactly as planned.
This is the first trailer hitch I've had, and I am super happy with it. Not only did it arrive quickly in the mail, but it was also quick (for my brother) to install- took him about 20 minutes. The hitch looks pretty stealth, barely visible under the back of my VW. The other reviews were very informative and made it easy for me to select this one. Thanks eTrailer!
The hitch was delivered in 3 days! The instructions were easy to follow. It took me more than the advertised 30 minutes, but that is because the GTI is very low and I did not raise the car or drive onto boards or ramps. I did approach the bolts from the sides behind the wheels. Tilt the hitch and slide under rear first.

The product --for the price-- is exceptional, but it's not nearly as good as the e-trailer service. The read-end of my 2014 Golf was banged up in an accident, so I had the body shop that was doing the repairs install the hitch. The bodyshop followed the e trailer online video, and had things ready to go in less than 15 minutes.

This follow up is a testament to e-trailer service - asking me if I was still happy with the hitch. The hitch is flawless, the original installation went quickly and easily, the the hitch its is sturdy and sound. and its the REAR-END of the car that got banged up - not read-end.
Easy install and no wobble with my Thule hitch bike rack. Buying another curt trailer hitch for my fiance's SUV.
The hitch fit perfectly on a 2010 VW Golf. Fairly easy to install with the back of the car up on jack stands. Took 2 of us about 1.5 hours getting the car up on jacks, installation and then lowering car again.
Easy install - took less than 30 minutes and that was with back trouble. I don't own a torque wrench so after I completed it, I took it to my local mechanic and he finished tightening it up.
I only had trouble with clearance issues once and that was pulling out of my driveway which I rarely park in. Otherwise, it's carried two bikes on a 300 mile round trip very nicely. Very pleased!
Fits perfectly on my 2011 Golf TDI. Install took about 20 minutes, from driving onto the ramps to driving back off them. Piece of cake. Instructions were very clear and precise, including which size sockets you'll need, and torque specs for each fastener.

I received product with clear concise pictures and installed it myself within an hour. Basically remove two existing bolts to be reused and add two more giving four bolt mounting strength. Well engineered custom piece that fit perfectly.

Easiest Hitch install I have ever done. 2013 GTI Wolfsburg with dual exhaust. Definitely becomes the lowest point of the vehicle so careful of sharp/steep driveways. Perfect for a bike rack.

Still great. Sure a bit low so some minor scraping is the only issue.
I am late writing this, as I've had the hitch for 1.5 yrs now, but I've been very happy so far. It's quick to install (within an hour for a newbie and with help from a friend), sturdy, and straightforward. Due to the low height of my VW Golf I also bought a riser/extender adapter (expander to 2"), which did press into the underside of the bumper, but since it was an older car and my bike rack took priority, a bit of dented plastic was not my concern. Love it, definitely recommend.
I used this on a 2012 VW Golf 2 door hatchback, base model.
Note: I traded my car in today for a different model, so apologies that I don't have a photo!
