I've got a lowered 1995 VW Jetta with a 1.25" receiver. I had to use a 6" extension along with a long, straight drawbar so any steep incline had me going at an angle and even then I would sometimes scrape. Some one had this drawbar on their Jetta and it looked good. With the measurements provided on this site I determined it would sit far enough away from my bumper and elevate the ball so my trailer wouldn't be angled down so much. Very glad I ordered this unit, it fits the car and works perfectly! Much better than my previous fix.

Comments
Okay, a year later and not a single complaint regarding this ball mount. It dutifully does its job to allow me the crazy looks people throw at me when hauling my motorcycle or my wifes latest furniture purchase. I dont know why Americans think trucks are the only vehicle to haul things.

I've used this multiple times now along with the trailer hitch from etrailer that my friend and I installed ourselves. It works great even after a year. I would highly recommend an additional purchase of a locking pin that can be used with your car ignition key to keep your cargo safe.

The drawbar works great! It allowed us to pull our inflatable boat trailer at the correct height and distance from our Camry. Would recommend to a friend!

As you can see your product was 100% perfect for getting my one legged friend and former Marine back to enjoying the open road. He's allowed to easily load his wheelchair by himself and with the added strength and length it gives him great stability and ease. Thanks again definitely recommend etrailer to all I run into, the price also greatly appreciated.

I bought for my 2020 Toyota Camry which sits low to the ground and needs at least 5" rise. The Drawbar hitch ball mount arrived as described and high quality as expected. I am very satisfied with my purchase. Highly recommend if you have a car and need a 5" rise for your trailer coupler. I am extremely confident and happy customer.

There is, what seems to be an excessive amount of play between this drawbar and my hitch resulting in a lot of rattling. I will investigate using shims of some kind to alleviate the matter.

Comments
Using still shims has helped, not ideal but no other solution short of welding.

The hitch was easy to install, and etrailer easily added the drawbar, ball, and wiring that I needed. Overall this was a fast, inexpensive solution.

Comments
Thank you for following up. Other than a few bumps getting out of driveways, the hitch has been satisfactory. The Aura has such a low-riding bumper!*

This hitch has been great to use with my VW Golf. It had accurate measurements on the description. When it came it fit with my car and trailer exactly how I thought it was going to. It is also solid metal and much more durable than what a little car needs. This hitch is definitely not the weak link in my car/trailer setup. It is a hitch I’d recommend to my friends in a similar situation. If you have a small car, this is a great hitch.

Ordered the hitch, wiring harness and drawbar for my 2011 Malibu. E-trailer was very good over all in the transaction, they communicated well, got the order out very quick and upgraded my shipping so I got the parts faster and the directions and video clips on their site were great and I had everything installed in just over 2 hours by myself - although a second person would have helped. the bolt wires they included with the hitch made getting the bolts through the frame so easy :) Have already used the hitch with a trailer and it worked great. I would definitely use them again!

  • What Size Ball Hole do Ball Mounts that Fit 1-1/4 inch Hitches Have
All of the Class II ball mounts out there have a 3/4 inch diameter ball hole. It might be the best solution for you to replace the ball you have with one that will fit that ball hole size like what comes with the # 36065 that you mentioned. For a 2 inch ball you'd need the # C40018 or for a 1-7/8 inch ball # C40001 and you'd be set.

  • Will Draw Bar 36065 fit a 2012 Nisssan Sentra
There is a drawbar with 5" of rise that will work for you, but Draw-Tite # 36065 is for use with Class II hitches only, and is not compatible with your Class I hitch, # 24794. Instead, you could use the Curt # C45024, a Class I draw bar which also gives you 5" of rise and will have no problems clearing your bumper with a length of 9-9/16". For a hitch pin you would want # F-4, and the hitch ball you want would either be 1-7/8" ball # C40001 or 2" ball # C40018.

A 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver is either a Class I or Class II hitch. All Class I and Class II can only use the ball mounts that are recommended for that vehicle. For safety reasons, if you have to change the rise or drop from the recommended ball mount, then the manufacturer does not recommend to tow that trailer with the Class I or Class II hitch on your vehicle. A cargo carrier setup wouldn't work because your vehicle wouldn't have the tongue weight rating to suspend the weight of your 500 lb wheel chair off the ground unsupported. For a Class I or II trailer hitch with a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch, you must use the ball mount that is recommended by the trailer hitch manufacturer. The reason is that the hitch has been tested with a specific ball mount and it is deemed to be the safest and best option for that vehicle and hitch combination. The only 1-1/4 inch hitch we carry for your 2005 Toyota Sienna is # C12065. The correct ball mount for this hitch is # C45016, and it must be used in the rise position only. It...
