The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.Not even close to fitting. Box again torn and hardware missing. Also hitch wiring missing. They put a 60 pound piece of steel and the box is oversize and comes crashing thru during shipping. Previous order same problem. I took photos and sent but no reply. Called today just got music for twenty minutes...etrailer if you read this send my missing parts. It was sent bent or as they say flexed..

We bought this to replace a Hidden Hitch that had been damaged due to and accident. The original had been on the truck for many year and served us well. We were glad to find this hitch and that it is exactly like the original. We like that, other than the receiver, the entire assembly hides up behind the bumper making for a very clean install. It is on a 2001 Ford Ranger with the Edge package. The truck has a full size spare and the hitch does fit well even with the full size spare. When you install the hitch removing the spare makes for a much easier install. The spare fits right back in place when you are done.
The hitch has been on the truck for about a year now. The finish has held up well and it does exactly what we need it to do.
I'm pleased with the simplicity of the installation process of the Draw-tite Max-Frame trailer hitch reciever on my 2005 Ford Ranger 4X4 pickup. After removing the original Ford bumper clip nuts and loosening one bumper brace for better clearance, the hitch assembly fit perfectly with holes matching and no need for drilling or modification. The installation was a 1 hour job done in my driveway......simple!
Easy to install considering it’s a 15 year old truck from MN. It’s really solid, glad I chose your hitch rather than using my step bumper.
Hitch seems to be built very well and strong. I have a 2007 Ford Ranger Sport and had to lower the spare tire a bit to fit the hitch when mounting but was able to put the spare back in place once the hitch was in. My only minor complaint is that the receiver box on the hitch was slightly crooked when welded on but shouldn't effect use. Good shipping time and tracking information on package.
I installed this on my 2006 Ford Ranger XLT (4x4, extended cab, V6 4.0L) earlier today, and I am extremely pleased with the results. It took me about 2 hours from start to finish. The hitch fit just right, and I feel very comfortable with the quality of the piece (even though I have not towed anything with it yet). I needed another set of hands when I bolted in the new hitch because it's pretty heavy, but other than that I could do everything on my own. I also had to drop the spare tire so that I had more room to work, but that is no problem at all. I did not have to do any drilling in my frame or the hitch. All in all I am very happy with my purchase and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to install a trailer hitch on their vehicle.
the hitch required some modification to get it to fit. Needed to grind the corners to round them off a bit to get the alignment right. Not sure if this is a hitch issue or a 20 year old truck issue! Once that was done, bolted on nicely. Doing business with etrailer is always easy.
I have a 2008 ranger 4x4. This set up was very easy to use and the video was very helpful since my mechanic skills are limited. If you have a full size spare tire which I did, you will need to remove before mounting the bracket. The spare will go back on but it will be a tight fit but will hold firmly. Make sure to look at the spacers to ensure you put the right ones in the right place. That was my only hiccup. I highly recommend this product because it was easy to mount and at a cost that was cheaper than other sites I went to.

Found the website through a Google search, easily found the trailer hitch I was looking for and purchased it. Shipping was super fast. Didn't take long at all to install on the truck even fit with the custom exhaust, fits nicely up under the bumper.
I bought this product to hold hitch accessories such as a bike rack and spare tire. The installation video was very helpful and I was surprised to find this resource specific to my vehicle (2001 Ranger). Installation should have only been a few minutes. My truck has been rear ended twice and the mounting holes didn't line up. This is not an issue with the product. I got it on there. Thank you!
Drawtite 75082 install on a 99 ranger pickup was easy to install, fit to the frame was dead on with no issues . This hitch by design I think is stronger than some of the others for the same application because the rear rectangular tube goes through the side plates then welded, as compared to a rear tube that is just butt welded to the side plates. the spare tire I have is a 30x9.5x15 does not fit all the way within the brackets designed to secure the tire but the tire can be lifted up by the tire jack with no problems . shipping was free & the price was the best when I purchased .

Great product. Did have to drop the tire down and also the side bracket for the rear bumper had to be moved ( fords fault) still only 15 minuets install
At 1st I thought this hitch had the wrng hole patter, but I discovered the big openeingh allowed for the bumper to stay bolted on while I put this over it's mounta and the opening allowed enough room to then remove the original bolt once the hutches other bolts was attached and then lock them both down with the large rectangular metal flange that was provided to cover the large hole. Worked out very nice. The hitch also tucked nicely under the bumper and doesn't stick oput much at all, along with maintaining perfect access to the spare tire. Great - Thanks etrailer!
Solid product and has held up to much abuse and towing. package was a little banged up on arrival but the hitch itself was not damaged
It was easy to install, and fit perfectly. Only draw back I had was I had to slightly adjust where the spare tire hung by loosening the tire then installing the hitch.
Installation was easy, it took longer to remove the spare tire than it did to install the hitch. I highly recommend this product. The installation video was helpful.

I received the trailer hitch two days ago and got around to installing it this morning. The hitch was mounted on my wife's 2000 Ford Ranger, extended cab, two wheel drive, 3.0 V6, automatic. Absolutely no modifications or drilling were required to mount the hitch. I installed the hitch in about an hour with no help.
Although not a mechanic by trade, I am a Chevy / Pontiac junkie and have spun a lot of wrenches. If you plan on installing your own hitch, and do not turn wrenches often, let me offer some advice:
Read the instructions and ensure that you completely understand how this goes together before you start. I read the instructions and inspected the mounting area several times before I began.
Trial fit all of the mounting hardware before you go up with the hitch. I was glad I did. One of the brackets for the carriage bolts (square hole) was cut differently than the other three. It needed to go in one specific location.
Spare tire got in the way. Lowering the spare tire requires work, work needs to be avoided. I let the air out of the spare tire and then I could shift it about 1/2", which was all I needed.
Once the hitch is up, do not tighten anything until all of the bolts are installed. Then gently draw it down, working from side to side as you go. It should set in nice and smooth like mine did. Finished installed product looked very nice. I would definitely purchase again. Thanks!

A straight forward installation as most will attest to, but we did complicate it a fair bit by not reading into how others were installing it; oops.
One snag we ran into with our factory bumper had to do with a 'nut' on the bumper gusset/framing that was spun around to a point where it prevented the etrailer hitch from seating-fully into the bumper brackets. Spinning the nut out of the way(not removing it) allowed the hitch to slip-in & install just like it should, with all the holes lining up to each other(hitch & bumper framing), and the vehicle framing.

I did have to drill a new set of holes on the truck frame since the frame did not have holes punched from the factory...Easy Fix!!!
