I cannot make a accurate recommendation without more information. The thickness of the bumper at the hitch ball hole and the diameter of the hole in the bumper for mounting the hitch ball will allow me to make a recommendation that will work with the bumper of your 2007 Ford Ranger.
We have 2 inch hitch balls with 3/4 inch shanks up to 3-3/8 inches long and 1 inch shanks up to 3-3/16 inches long (see link). I am sure we have a ball that will work with your bumper.
If you are planning on towing often or towing a heavy trailer you may want to consider a frame mounted receiver hitch. The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver Class III, item # 75082, will fit on your Ranger and will give you the adaptability of a 2 inch receiver at the rear of the vehicle for towing, bike rack or cargo carrier.
Items needed to complete the towing setup with the hitch mentioned are listed below.
Drawbar # C45010
Pin and Clip # PC3
Hitch Ball # 19247
Hitch Lock # e98882
