I want to put the hitch on a 1993 dodge Dakota p.u. on a 2008 ford ranger p.u.. will it fit?

Trailer hitch fits are very specific nowadays so what you are trying to do is not possible. Back in the day the full size trucks basically all took the same hitch but not anymore.
For your 2008 Ford Ranger you'd want the # 75082.
