Took me and my granddaughter total of 35 minutes to hook this up, only that long because it couldn’t find my car jack so we had to do it the hard way nonetheless, pretty easy to install even for an old lady ha ha ha

by:

Hitch arrived friday 05/01,opened up the box spread the hitch out on the floor, later that evening while watching the 10:pm Blue Bloods started by laying out the wiring in the car but it was dark in the garage so I decded to wait untill mouring to hoch up. O730 AM 5 secounds to hock up both sides electrically, my friends car lift was down so I decided to start on the floor less than 45 minutes it was installed, I did use my floor jack to balance the hitch on one side the muller held up the other side, not bad for a diabled veteran now going on 69 in august (heart blew up in 91 on duty, triple by pass and a few ,3 attacks later I'still kicking) Now I got to finish cleaning up the trailer my son in law gave me, no body would buy it, I will send pictures in a few weeks of what should be impressive for a nice set, needed a lot of TLC and paint on the trailer that is now licensd for the first time in ten years since he bought it. It will be used for general purpose light duty by me only.
I am very happy going through e trailer, was consdering going through Uhaul saved my self saved aleast $100.00 and all the bull (electrical wiring not included) plus the waitting time they required about two weeks.

Awesome looking and a quality built hitch. Installed fairly easy with the detailed instructions and a short video clip by trailer. Wiring was easy as plug and go.

by:

I searched all over the internet for this hitch and etrailer had a great price and I got it in 2 days. Everywhere else was a week or more. And they have videos on all products with install. Very helpful!! A+ rating for me.

The trailer hitch installed with ease laying on my back in the driveway.I did however need my sons assistance to hold it in place to secure it.It was a good value thanks e trailer.

by:

This hitch is great for my towing. It seems to be rugged and gives me the most ground clearance possible. I still need to be careful about backing up into steeper driveways since it can scrape. The installation was easier than most cars. I am very happy.

Great. This hitch is super rugged. It can withstand the force of my trailer at up to 2000 lb. it can also handle hitting steep inclines since it hangs down from my rear bumper. I believe it will last a very long time and save a lot on delivery fees now that I can trailer my own purchases home.

2012 Chevrolet HHR

My 12 year old son and I installed the trailer hitch in about 30 min. on our 2009 HHR. Great fit and the installation kit was so easy to use. The wire for fishing the hardware through the frame is pure genius and worked better than I thought it would. Great design overall. Thanks.

2010 Chevrolet HHR

Absolutely exactly what I was looking for. Ordered for my 2009 chevy HHR. I am mechanically inclined and being the typical guy I did not watch the video. For someone who doesn't wrench much it would probably help. The one page instructions that came with the hitch were easy enough to understand. I didn't time myself or hurry but installed it by myself in well under an hour beginning to end with cleanup. I did jack up and put the rear of my car on jack stands which I think is a must for clearance. It would be easier to have an additional person to help hold the hitch up while bolting. I would recommend threading the fish wire through both holes before adding the plates and screwing the bolts in it for the rear holes also, and the fish wire also helps on the front holes as well to not lose the bolts in the frame (attach them and then put the both in first and then the plate and pull the bolt back down). All in all simple installation once you figure out how it goes together and only one bolt hole required drilling out to make it bigger. I give it about a 3 out of 10 on technical difficulty. If you can change you oil and do simple maintenance to your car or truck you can put this hitch on no problem. Fit was awesome. eTrailer pricing and shipping awesome as well. If your looking for a great hitch this is the one.

2007 Chevrolet HHR

The Video's were Extremely Helpful... I watched prior to ordering; while my C1147 Hitch was in route to me, I drilled out the one hole on the passenger side of my HHR based on information in video. The day my hitch arrived, I had my HHR backed up on top of my Car Ramps that I normally use to change my oil on my front tires. So the Ass of my Vehicle was in the Air ready for the install. When UPS Arrived, I installed all by myself in about 20 minutes. The trick is the lift the hitch over the muffler and install one bolt, then lift the other end up and install the bolts on the passenger side. The Fishing tool worked amazingly well. Torque... Torque... Torque... Very Important. Thanks etrailer.com for your support.

2008 Chevrolet HHR

The trailer hitch pulls my Pressure Washing Trailer and does amazing. It was so easy to setup just had to drill the holes out and everything worked great. The bolt chaser was an amazing piece to have and had no issues with it. Thank you Etrailer for the amazing product. I recommend you buy the custom fit wiring harness as well it just fits right into the brake lights and it’s so easy to setup.

by:

I watched the video and also studied the paper directions. It took me around 50 minutes to complete the installation, from the time I raise the car on the jack stands, to letting it back down. The only difficulty I had was holding the unit up and putting on the nuts. I used a 5 gallon bucket to hold up the other end, which helped. I also installed the wiring kit, which was simple and just as shown in the video. Excellent products and the delivery was quicker than advertised.

by:

Installation of receiver hitch was easy, thanks to your instalation videos. The Curt receiver hitch was a perfect fit. Wiring the lights was easy also with the help of the correct video. Fast shipping from your company was a + also.

Etrailer really does it RIGHT when it comes to trailer hitches and associated attachments. Prices of your equipment are very good also. Will buy from your company again when I need more hitch products.

Chevrolet HHR

I ordered 2 hitches, 1 for me and 1 for my sisters HHR. I was surprised when customer service called me back to make sure I did not make a mistake ordering 2 by accident. I installed the hitch on my HHR very easily and quickly. What a well made product, I am impressed. The shipment arrived sooner than I expected for a pleasent surprise. What a great company to deal with. I will definitly use them again.

by:

I have had other trailer hitches in the past but this is by far the best. Best design of all using a flat steel plat with oval holes instead of oval loops for the safety chain to go though. Easy to install works great and hardly shows.

by:

The only problem I had was that the instruction page flipped the location of the bolts holes so I ended up have to back track and start over. Otherwise it was an easy install and would probably only take me 20 minutes if I ever have to do it again.

by:
2011 Chevrolet HHR

this company is the best , received my hitch in two days , Best price of anyone else , and took me one hour and fifteen minutes to put on hitch and hook up wires, Great product . And etrailer is the best. Thank You

2008 Chevrolet HHR

I bought this hitch for the cost and because it included the draw bar and pin. There were no hidden problems. The hitch fit my 08 HHR perfectly. The video on this website is perfect, I didn't even use the included instructions. The instructions did say it would take a professional 60 minutes to complete the installation. It took me 50 and I'm not a pro by any means. The only tip I have is: if you're installing this on the ground, you'll need to jack up the back of your HHR to have room to work and the hitch will have to go straight in from the back of the car and over the muffler.
Great product, easy install, cheapest price I could find.

by:
Chevrolet HHR

Got my hitch in a couple of days. Easy to track order. Watched video which helped with the install on my HHR. Very easy to install. Did not have a lift and had to install on the ground, just be prepared for the weight of the hitch. Only took me 45 mins. with the clean up of tools. etrailer is a great online store, will order all my trailer products from them.

by:
Chevrolet HHR

The hitch fits perfectly ( Chevy HHR) The most difficult part was getting the exhaust back into the rubber hangers. Which wasnt that bad. The hardware kit comes with a special tool to help get the bolts into the frame and that made the job ez.

by:

heavy tow bracket, wow... the car will be the weakest part of frame, I pity anyone who tailgates me when it's all installed.
More to follow when fully tested.
1-1/4 bracket and 500# / 300# basket....
2006 Chevy Cobalt SS....

Oh yeah pictures to follow...

by:

This is really a heavy duty hitch. Installation was pretty easy after watching the video. If you install with car on the ground, not on a lift you need to pull the muffler down and slide it in from the back. Also, both rear holes needed to be drilled out a little not just the passanger side. Took me just a little over an hour including finding all my tools. Very satisfied. I love when I make good choices!

  • Which Curt Trailer Hitch Fits a 2010 Chevy HHR
Curt Trailer Hitch, # 11430, is designed to fit various years and models of the Chevy Cobalt coupe and sedan but not the Chevy HHR. For a 2010 Chevy HHR the correct Curt trailer hitch is # 11447. I have included links to the instructions and a video showing a typical installation for you. The hitch comes with the correct ball mount, hitch pin, and clip. If you plan on doing some towing you can use 1-7/8 inch ball # 19256 or 2 inch ball # 19258. For trailer wiring use # 118407. I have linked...

  • Does the Stabilizer Strap for a Curt Hitch on a 2011 HHR Need to be Used for a Single-Bike Bike Rack
If you are wanting to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11447 on your 2011 Chevrolet HHR then a stabilizer strap like part # 18050 would need to be used according to Curt's warranty. The warranty simply says any non-trailer load so even a single bike rack would fall under that. With that being said, where you attach the strap doesn't matter at all. You could actually just loop it over the crossbeam of the RockyMounts HighNoon FC Solo Bike Rack # RKY87RR and then back to your vehicle...

Both of the above Curt options for your Chevy Cobalt feature a 200 pound tongue weight capacity. This will work for your wheelchair carrier only if the combined weight of both the carrier itself and your wheelchair falls below this limit. I have attached the written installation instructions that you can check out as well.

  • Installation Time for a Hitch on a 2009 Chevrolet HHR
For this particular installation I do not see a difference in the installation so I believe the difference is just in the amount of time the manufacturers stated at the time of engineering. The installation is essentially the same for all of the hitches (see link) offered for the 2009 Chevrolet HHR. I would allow a bit more time, maybe 1-1/2 hours, for the installation if working off of the ground without a lift.

If you have or are looking at hitch # C11447 then the ball mount that Curt recommends is # C45520 which is about the same length as C45015 so it would also have enough length.
