I am trying desperately to find an inexpensive trunk mounted bike carrier for my 2009 Pontiac G5 Coupe. It has an awful spoiler... What do you suggest? Please advise.

Although the Thule Passage is a fit for the 2009 Pontiac G5, but this trunk mount rack could damage your spoiler. Thule has another option for your G5 Coupe that works with spoilers, the Thule OutWay # TH45JV.
Another option would be to go with a hitch and a hitch mounted bike rack. I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11447, which is a confirmed fit for your Coupe, and the Swagman 2 bike rack, part # S63360.
