Question:

Hello, I have a 2009 Chevrolet HHR SS and I would like to install a bike rack onto it. I was looking at the C11447 Curt Hitch to install onto my car, but the listing doesnt have the SS model. Well this fit my car? Would the Draw Tite, or Hidden Hitch models fit my car better? I really dont want to have to trim the rear fascia if I can help it. The bike rack I was looking at is the Kuat Transfer, which Im hoping will work with the Curt Hitch. Will the Kuat Transfer take 20inch kids bikes? Thanks in advance

I checked with Curt and trailer hitch # C11447 will fit your 2009 Chevy HHR SS model! You mentioned that you want to use the hitch for a bike rack. If you choose the Curt hitch then Curt also says you have to use stabilization strap # 18050 when using this hitch for any non-trailer load (such as a bike rack or cargo carrier) per their warranty requirements.

If you don't want to have to use the strap then I recommend the Draw-Tite hitch, # 24756, because it does not require the use of the strap.

The Kuat Transfer, # KU74FR, will work with both the Draw-Tite and the Curt hitch. It is compatible with 20 to 29 inch diameter bike tires so provided the kids bike has tires in that range (which is very likely) then it will fit. This rack will fit when folded down but not when folded up. I have linked a video review of this bike rack for you.
