Excellent product. Great value. Exceptional video help.
Shipping and delivery could use some work. Box looks like it was thrown out of an aircraft.

by:

Solid hitch, great price. Overall install went well, had to grind down a few spacers just a teeny bit to get them to fit where they needed to go but would buy again for sure!

by:

Great service and got my hitch out to me in a couple of days

by:

Pretty easy install, needs deburring. Cut my chest up

by:

The package arrived quickly but was a little rough looking. Considering the contents that shipped, it wasn't surprising though. All pieces were securely wrapped on the trailer hitch and we are very satisfied with our purchase!

2021 Ford F-150

Product was shipped very quickly and is a stout hitch. The installation was fairly easy once you have a good understanding of what to do the photos in the instructions were no help they are dark and don't show much detail. The drawing was easier to follow all the nessary parts and tool are included. Don't be hesitant. Just take your time and it will come together easily.

  • Does Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp Work With 2 Inch Trailer Hitch on Ford F-150
The Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp for 2" Hitch Receivers # GY88XR is actually designed to fit over the shank of a ball mount or accessory that fits into a 2-inch trailer hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch # C86HR that fits certain model year Ford F-150's and F-150 Raptors. So, the short answer is yes, the clamp will absolutely work with the hitch, but it does not go around the lip, it will actually go into the receiver and then you'll tighten it. If you take a look at the linked video review...

  • Is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Part # C26HR Visible on a 2017 Ford F-150
Yes, only the receiver tube opening of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C26HR will be visible while installed on your 2017 Ford F-150. I have attached a photo of what the finished product will look like on a similar F-150 for you in addition to an install video. I also recommend using part # C22272 to protect the inside of the receiver tube from rusting while not in use.

  • How Does Brake Controller Install on 2019 Ford F-150 with Factory 4-Way
To install a brake controller like the Hopkins Agility part # HM47295 in your 2019 Ford F-150 you'd actually just need the # 37185 which would plug into the 4-way you have at the rear of your truck and then you'd splice the blue wire of the adapter to the blue wire of the harness you can see in the attached picture. Instead of the Agility I would strongly recommend the iCommand part # TK63VR as it performs much better and is much more reliable as well. For a Class III hitch part # C86HR...

  • Wiring Harness For 2020 Ford F-150 Without Tow Package
Where to start with your wiring harness depends on what available connectors you have under the bumper of your 2020 Ford F-150 and also what trailer connector you're looking to add on your truck. If your truck already has the square shaped connector, #C56110 will add a 4-way connector for your trailer. If you have a square shaped connector on your truck and want to add a 7-way connector for your trailer, the # ETBC7 is what you need. If you instead have a round shaped connector on your...

  • How To Prevent Rear End Sag on a 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor While Towing
Yes, you can use a weight distribution system on your 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor. However, you will need to make sure the trailer hitch is rated for use with a weight distribution system. For one that is, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C86HR which is a direct fit so no drilling is required and it will exceed the weight limitations of your vehicle. For a weight distribution system, there are few better than the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37061ET which...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Ford F-150 that Allows Full Size Spare
Yes, the Curt hitch part # C86HR that you referenced does fit your 2019 Ford F-150 and will allow you to retain the spare you have stored underneath the vehicle. The spare does need to get lowered during the install process but it can easily be put back where it belongs after the install.

  • Trailer Hitch and Brake Controller Recommendation for 2016 Ford F-150 with 4-Way Trailer Connector
For your 2016 Ford F-150 the Curt hitch part # C86HR is a confirmed fit and would work great. Then to convert the 4-way to a 7-way and install the brake controller would actually want the part # 37185 and the brake controller install harness part # 22292. Follow the 4-way trailer connector wires from the trailer connector to the front of the vehicle. These wires connect to a factory plug along the frame rail, usually on the driver's side, between the back tires and the rear bumper. The...

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C86HR has a hidden crosstube design which gives you a very clean look that is complimented by the matte black finish that matches black finish that you'll find on your 2020 Ford F-150. In all honesty, when looking for a low profile trailer hitch that looks like it's designed for the vehicle you can't go wrong with this trailer hitch. • Is the Curt C86HR Hitch Hidden Behind the Bumper on a 2022 Ford F-150
I have attached a picture of the Curt Hitch Receiver item # C86HR you referenced installed on a Ford F-150. As you can see it is mostly obscured by the bumper. The only part of the hitch that is visible is the 2" receiver portion. If you need a ball mount and ball I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball, a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop, and is rated for up to 7,500 lbs. It also includes a hitch...

  • Wiring Harness For 2016 Ford F-150 Without Tow Package
You are correct you will need a hitch as well as wiring harness and ball mount to tow your trailer. My hitch recommendation is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C86HR. It comes in a gloss black finish that not only resists corrosion but also is less susceptible to scratches. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # C56413 is a great choice connecting quickly and easily with no cutting or splicing of wires so you'll have the 7 way connector you need...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Weight Distribution System for 2015 Ford F-150 with Travel Trailer
If you have the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C86HR, then I recommend upgrading your hitch to the Class IV # C26HR which is rated for up to 1,200 lbs when using weight distribution. The reason is because weight distribution is based on loaded trailer tongue weight as well as any cargo weight behind the rear axle of the truck. This can easily increase your loaded trailer tongue weight and put you beyond the max capacity of your hitch when using weight distribution. For your weight distribution...

  • Is Frame Mounted Hitch Solution Better than Bumper Hitch of 2016 Ford F-150
If you are considering a frame mounted hitch over your bumper ball mount/hitch I would recommend you go ahead and go the frame hitch route. This will give you quite a bit more towing capacity and the ability to use a different rise/drop ball mount so that you can tow your trailer as level as possible. The Curt hitch part # C86HR would be a really great choice for this. It's mostly hidden too which gives it a less visible look. Check out the install video and picture I attached as well.

  • Options to Carry Bikes With 2016 Ford F-150

The best option is a trailer hitch receiver and hitch-mounted bike rack. • Are There Extra Spacers in the Curt Trailer Hitch Kit # C86HR?
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C86HR does not come with extra spacers. On each side of the hitch the rear most hole will use a square block spacer and a U- shaped spacer. The hole closest to the cab on each side will use a square block spacer on each side of the frame rail so one will be sandwiched between the hitch and the frame.
